2023.05.29 13:09 kukusek Loan report 29.05. 22-23 Summary. Not yet championship edition.

Okaaay, so we're still shaking after the game, and already shaking before next season. Time to wrap things up.
Let's start with the Ladies team, they finished 6th and deserve some recognition. I don't follow WSL much, so i'll help myself with BBC Sport Emma Sanders quote:
"Their form dipped in the final few months and they still lack consistency but given they were fighting relegation last year, this can be viewed as a very successful campaign and they have solid foundations to build on. "
Also worth noting, our Women's team played their last game away at City, were losing 3:0 but still managed to scare them by going 3:2, knowing these 3 points don't matter to our place in the table. Their lost their last game of the season but put up a fair fight.
U18:
First full season under Leighton Baines ended at 4th place in the Under-18 Premier League North.
“For our lads, the development comes before the winning,” he said. “The winning still has to matter because they’re getting older and closer to the real game. We create that environment on a Saturday as balanced as we can. We work on certain things during the week and we’re willing to practise them on the weekend, even if it may be to a detriment of the potential outcome.
“At the same time, the kids play football, and they want to win. We’re not trying to create an overly sanitised environment where they don’t know how to win and where they don’t know how to play under pressure. We find a balance of those two things. What I’ve been blessed with this year, is that the lads have built a really strong bond and team spirit. I think that’s been reflected in some of those comeback performances and the ability to dig in." - Leighton words on his first coaching season.
https://www.evertonfc.com/news/3340734/baines-reflects-on-impressive-maiden-year-as-a-coach
Since last report - Two draws against MU, draw against Newcastle, and a home win vs Stoke.
U19:
Also our u19 team played at Nawi Mumbai PL Next gen cup last two weeks, in which their ended third in their group and lost their playoff game to go further. Some games were played in 37'C heat.
U21:
Youngsters finished eight in the PL2 _ Division 1. What is more impressive, they managed to get to quarterfinals in the PL International Cup, beaten by the final winners PSV Eindhoven U21, and to 1/16 in both PL Cup and EFL Trophy(beaten by Senior Lincoln team). That was first Paul Tait season as U21 coach. Results went downwards after the january transfer window, when Tom Cannon went on loan, and Joe Anderson and Seb Quirk joined Sunderland and Accrington Stanley on permament transfers. Some words from the coach:
“It gave the boys a lot of confidence they could go on and play men’s football,” he explained. “The likes of Tom Cannon, Joe Anderson and Seb Quirk all got good moves
“Tom played against these experienced players in the Papa John’s and then went on to have a really successful loan spell at Preston North End.”
“It was a huge transition between January and March," he added. "Players went out and we needed replacements, but I felt we found our feet again towards the end of the season.
“It’s not easy for some of the Under-18s transitioning through. They can find the jump hard, but they’ve done well. We’ve had lads like Owen Barker, Halid Djankpata and Roman Dixon coming through and impressing.
“Roman joined us in the past few weeks and knows the level that is required now. It’s important for these players to experience it. Ishe Samuels-Smith has been with us since the start and has been brilliant, as have Katia Kouyate and Francis Okoronkwo.”
Since last loan report: Win and loss against Leicester, and Loss away vs Arsenal.
Loanees:
João Virgínia (SC Cambuur) - Last time on the bench - 21.04 - since then probably they were sure of the relegation and preferred their own players. Joao last game played was 21.01 and it was a bad one. Then he was benched, and changing of manager didn't help him either. Even when new first choice keeper made multiple blunders, manager kept with him. Contracted till 2024
Andre Gomes (Lille OSC) - He found his place and a manager that uses him well. Lille sits 4th which grants them Europe league, with one round to play next week. They have to win with already relegated Troyes, otherwise they might fall even to 6th. Andre Played 5 matches from the 7 Lille played since last report - 3 wins and 2 draw. One loss and win without Andre. To end it on a happy note, here are some highlights, with two goals as beautiful as Andre is. Recommended ! Contracted till 2024
https://youtu.be/MQMj43reBmM - Andre bangers!
Jarrad Branthwaite (PSV Eindhoven) - He's the hope for us, won the Cup, and ended second with PSV Eindhoven. After a rough start he became a natural starter. PSV would love to keep him, but they would have to break all the banks in Netherland. Contracted till 2025
Since last report: 7 games, all with Jarrad. 6 wins, 1 draw against Heerenveen, PSV last home game(That wasn't a great game by Jarrad, but that happens).
https://youtu.be/g3hrvYMxB4M - Cup Final with Jarrad OG. Keeping Ajax in check was never meant to be easy. Love his sprint around 1:25 to provide support though.
Niels Nkounkou (Saint-Etienne) - That's our Second French league hot cake, and definitely not a fullback. ASSE is 10th with one game to go, and still can finish form 12 to 6th. They were dancing with relegation zone when he came there. I wonder what comes next for this guy. 6 goals 7 assists since january.
https://youtu.be/u1F3QCWb9R8 - assist vs Guingamp
https://youtu.be/Rhso0dEBgnM - goal Vs Metz
Dele Alli (Beşiktaş JK) - Last involvement in football - 26.02 match against Antalayaspor. For more news visit Celebrities rumours section of some shady journo outlet. Contracted till 2024. Ughh
Jean-Philipe Gbamin (Trabzonspor) - At least he's still involved in football, played in 4th of 5 matches since the last report. Always subbed on in the last 20 minutes. Two rounds to go. No idea about what to do with guy, but at least he's on the field sometimes. Contracted till 2024
Thomas Cannon (Preston North End) - After a great spell, with a lot of goals scored, there comes a slump. From 5 last games, PNE lost 4, and drew 1. Tom scored one goal in this time, against Swansea, but it meant nothing in the end (4:2 loss). PNE buried the small chance it had of getting to playoffs and finished 12th. 8 goals and 1 assist since January. His contract is valid till 2025.
https://youtu.be/n785ACurXI0 - goal against Swansea
Lewis Dobbin (Derby County) - Derby really lost their way at the end and landed in 7th place. Dobbin always played the role of a fresh energy sub, but didn't get an goal or an assist since the end of february. This season numbers: 3 goals, 1 penalty won, 4 assists. + one goal in a EFL Trophy, and one assist in a cup. He has a contract till 2025.
Lewis Warrington (Fleetwood Town) - 2 Wins, 2 losses, one draw since last report, all with Lewis playing. In terms of game time per season - clear winner, he missed only a few games. As a midfielder playing under Scott Brown, he surely learned something. Only one assist to his name, but also no red cards and no errors, and he mostly plays as the last midfielder, screening defence. Fleetwood Town ended season in 13th place. He could find a loan in the championship next year. Contracted till 2024
Ryan Astley (Accrington Stanley) - Haven't played since february, kept out by injuries. When healthy, played all the games he could. Accrington Stanley are relegated to League Two now, but i can see them, or even some League One club wanting him to play if healthy. He's out of contract this summer. Seb Quirk joined him and penned a deal with AS this january.
Lewis Gibson (Bristol Rovers) - I'm happy to finally see this kid play some football without injury. When he showed his quality, he quickly became a starter for BR, playing as CB and occasionally as LB. They ended 17th(5 losses and 2 draws since last report), and could sign him permamently as he's out of contract this summer. Surely some League One club will go for him.
Tyler Onyango (Forest Green Rovers) - He had to fight for his place during the Burton Albion loan, and played not regularly under Dino. Then he(with Everton club) took a gamble and sent him to Forest Green Rovers, to play under Big Dunc he knew very well. No one could have predicted the injury that kept him out after playing just 3 games for the Green team. Fun fact - Burton Albion fought against relegation when he was there, and they ended 15th, but Forest Green Rovers ended being relegated from the last place. He's 20y.o. contracted till 2025.
Harry Tyrer (Chester) - The National League North Team of the Season 2022/23
"The Everton loanee has had quite the season down CH1. Recruited last summer on a season-long deal, Tyrer was quick to show his key attributes.
His dominance inside the box was clear for all to see, as was his remarkable shot stopping. His distribution isn’t bad either – that assist for Kurt Willoughby’s winner at home to Bradford (PA) springs to mind!
A fan favourite from day one, his signature dive into the Chester fans after away victories became a highlight on the road. A record of 21 clean sheets in his 55 appearances isn’t bad either.
Harry evidently has a bright future in the game and has been a credit to the Blues both on and off the pitch – he will always be fondly remembered at the Deva." - Chester FC
Chester sadly lost against Brackley 0:1 in the promotion playoffs.
Harry has contract with the club till 2025
Thank You guys. Sorry for being chaotic, but with the relegation battle going on i couldn't focus on doing these regularly. It's gonna be a hard next season, but i look forward to how our academy will look like next year as changes made under Thelwell should be more evident.

2023.05.29 12:35 WRXLAZ Car accident, is recording the other party's conversation legal?

Long story short, someone hit my car and I was recording the accident scene including the damage and debris of the car so I have a record of the scene.
He was very apologetic at the scene and could see I was recording everything - in the video of me videoing my damage, he calls his son and tells him he hit someone thereby admitting fault. I also captured him offering to have my car privately fixed without going through our insurance.
Fast forward to today, his insurer has sent me a letter of demand claiming I am at fault even though it is a blatant lie - am I allowed to use that video as evidence of him admitting fault at the accident scene?
As I am not party to that conversation but was still captured on my recording, is it still legal to use that video as evidence or will insurance reject it? I was in a public place when this occurred for reference.
I'm just miffed as the damage is substantial.
Cheers

2023.05.29 12:22 throwaway_fb2 My dad is trying to go viral on Facebook Reels and it is driving everyone insane.

We can’t drive anywhere without it being live-streamed or recorded. Part of me worries for our safety since he posts where we are. He is going through old videos posting them publicly; one of which was my little sister in a bathing suit (as a small child). Of course he saw nothing wrong with it but the internet is so vast nowadays and he doesn’t realise how many pedophile and creeps there are. The rest of us tried to voice these concerns but he blew us off telling us this story about a father who started doing social media and his children were skeptical but then he blew up and they were all dying to be involved.
He received those Facebook Stars and trying to redeem those has brought me so much stress. Dealing with stupid Facebook support. We were arguing about this and I said ‘I couldn’t even open Facebook anymore because I couldn’t deal with hearing his voice’ (which on retrospect, was a bit harsh but it was honest). He went off to smoke cause he’s an addict and I started writing this post.
I don’t mind him going viral and getting famous. Honestly I’d drop my future career in engineering if I became a social media star but it wouldn’t be like this. I miss having small unpublicised moments even as simple as going to McDonalds.

2023.05.29 12:12 Strong-Spirit-490 I’m turning myself in Wednesday for a two year sentence and I have a few questions.

What are some things I can be prepared for? The charge is “harassment of a public servant.” Considered non violent. Up for parole after 6 months and I have 1.5 banked already. Have a few questions.
1) I want to write a girlfriend of mine, but she’s worried her father will see that it’s from prison on the envelope. Anyone know how it’s addressed when you send a letter?
2) I plan on reading a LOT. Would appreciate any book recommendations that would help me mentally escape from the situation.
3) Anyone who has made parole, what does the parole board look for? Obviously show remorse, any other tips?
4) I’ve done a month prior to this and it was relatively easy. I’ve heard state jail is better than county. Can anyone tell me if that’s true or false? And if so what makes it bette worse.
5) As a non violet offender with misdemeanors on my record, what are my odds of getting parole after 6 months? I know that all cases aren’t the same but guess for me…
I will be in Texas Department of Corrections if that helps anyone give a more specific answer.
Thank you all for reading and any questions answered are appreciated. If I don’t get parole 2 years seems like a lot. Having a hard time with it mentally.
Also don’t come to Texas. Down here we say “come for vacation stay for probation.”
Again thank you for your time.

Accused Pedophile Goes to Court June 6th @ 930am in DC. US v Eleanor Hunton Hoppe
Eleanor Hunton Hoppe was also arrested in October of 2019 at Pocahontas State Park & I surmise through my evidence there was a serious and different arrest made by Park Ranger Kevin Faubion (Faubion was transferred to a state park in Farmville, VA just months after he arrested Eleanor Hoppe) but Hoppe charge was subsequently reduced to "undressing where prohibited" because of Eleanor Hunton Hoppe's "First Family of Virginia" pedigree and her father is Eppa Hunton V, whom I believe was responsible for overturning the original arrest to a lesser violation, via influenced by Eppa's power and status, etc...The park timeline is sus & cast of characters in play also sus. Is husband, Judge Joel Hoppe also being investigated for possible crimes against children as well? Tons of red flags in this case! This ongoing pedo case doesn't pass the smell test. CourtListner documents also included. Item one is very disturbing to read and difficult to get through. Also note the Hoppe is convicted of federal offense 18U.S.C. 3142 (f) (1) Eleanor Hunton Hoppe is referred as: Eleanor "Hunter" Hoppe in the federal documents. Unsure if this was a errant typo. Another character who may be involved in this case was arrested in Pocahontas State park the same day as Hoppe, is Charlottesville artist, Andrew Hersey.
Eleanor Hoppe case will be heard in Washington, DC June 6th at 930am. Virtual hearing, no doubt.

GST Riverside South Ottawa is a federal tax in Canada that has revolutionized the tax landscape since its introduction in 1991. It is a value-added tax levied on the consumption of goods and services, replacing the previous Manufacturers' Sales Tax (MST) and Federal Sales Tax (FST). The GST is administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and applies across all provinces and territories. Benefits for businesses in Canada include simplification of the tax system, reduction of administrative complexities, and cost burdens. Additionally, businesses can claim input tax credits (ITCs) for GST paid on inputs and operating expenses, promoting efficiency and reducing double taxation.
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) has significantly impacted businesses in Riverside South, Ottawa by simplifying taxation and promoting economic growth. As a broad-based tax, the GST applies to a wide range of goods and services, making it more affordable for consumers. This eliminates the cascading effect of taxes, resulting in higher prices for consumers.
The GST also simplifies compliance for businesses by streamlining accounting processes, allowing them to focus on core operations and strategic decision-making. The Canada Revenue Agency provides online tools and resources to assist businesses with GST registration, filing returns, and understanding tax regulations, ensuring efficient tax compliance and avoiding penalties or non-compliance issues. Overall, the GST has created a tax environment that fosters business growth, innovation, and consumer satisfaction, benefiting both businesses and consumers.

Greely and Ottawa's Impact on Quebec sales tax

QST Greely Ottawa (Québec Sales Tax) is a provincial tax levied on goods and services consumed within Québec, Canada. It applies to businesses and residents in Greely, Ottawa, when purchasing goods or services from Québec-based suppliers or when consumed within Québec. The current QST rate is 9.975%, applied on top of the goods or services purchase price. It is crucial for businesses and consumers in Greely to be aware of the QST when engaging in transactions involving Québec suppliers or retailers.
The QST system brings several benefits for both businesses and consumers. For businesses, the QST simplifies the taxation process, ensuring compliance and avoiding potential penalties or legal issues. Businesses in Greely, Ottawa, must register with Revenu Québec and collect the tax from customers. Accurate records and regular tax returns are crucial for compliance. Consumers in Greely, Ottawa, may be subject to the QST, which may be included in the purchase price or added separately depending on the retailer's policies. Understanding the QST's applicability, rate, and compliance requirements is essential for maintaining compliance and a smooth tax experience for both businesses and consumers.

Development of WalkScape, Closed Beta roadmap, anti-cheat and the release of character customization

Hello, and welcome back to the WalkScape development blog! As summer and our slated release of the closed beta draw nearer, you might notice we don't have as many "new features" to showcase this time. Instead, I've been neck-deep in enhancing our development tools, while maxchill has been hard at work creating more options for character customization.
In this blog post, I'll delve into the development side of WalkScape, shedding light on the process I've been navigating for the last...9 months, I believe?
I'm aware we have plenty of developers among our readers, so I hope this blog post proves particularly interesting to them!

WIP logo for our company, Not a Cult

The Evolution of WalkScape

Let's kick things off with a fun showcase of different versions of WalkScape through a series of screenshots. We'll start with the initial Unity prototype:

The very first Unity version

The very first version was quickly abandoned after the initial prototype, as explained in the next section. Next, we have the first version of WalkScape developed with Flutter:

The very first version of WalkScape developed with Flutter, 17.08.2022

As you can see, it's still quite rough, but it marked a significant step forward with the core functionality of step counting implemented. The next version introduced skills and experience:

The first version with some statistics showing up

At this stage, WalkScape started to resemble more of a game rather than just a pedometer app. We continued to expand the game by incorporating activities and additional functionalities:

Early version of the location view with some missing sprites.

With each iteration, WalkScape began to take shape, as seen in the screenshots and videos shared with you. As we progressed, I started to develop the inventory system. Around this time, maxchill joined our team as an artist, taking over the sprite creation. In the next version, you'll witness the emergence of maxchill's pixel art:

With each iteration, we approached the appearance of the game as it stands today:

Current version of WalkScape

Technology Stack

I initially started developing WalkScape in the summer of the previous year using Unity, a highly popular game engine that supports various platforms such as PC, PlayStation, iOS, and Android.

Flutter related meme

However, after approximately a week, I realized that Unity was not well-suited for the kind of game I was creating. While Unity excels in developing 3D games and such, it proved inadequate for a mobile game that needed to conserve battery power and seamlessly integrate with mobile operating systems. Additionally, the UI creation tools provided by Unity did not align with my requirements, and even the initial version with just a step counter drained the battery quickly.
Consequently, I made the decision to switch to Flutter. Having experimented with Flutter in a few app development projects, I was impressed by its user-friendly experience and rapid UI creation capabilities. Despite some initial skepticism regarding its suitability for gaming, I believed that Flutter, being a relatively new technology, held great potential.
Flutter comes with a well-developed game engine called Flame. Although tempted to use Flame, I ultimately decided against it, a choice I now consider the right one. By developing my own engine, I gained complete control over every aspect of the game. It has been an extensive endeavor—WalkScape comprises nearly 40,000 lines of code. However, this approach allowed me to grasp a comprehensive understanding of the game's inner workings. Thus, I have been averaging approximately 140 lines of code per day since the project's inception. But I did take a few days off during the past nine months for some well-deserved rest :D
For those interested in the technical details, one of the significant challenges in building my own game engine was developing an efficient and well-structured system for persisting data and updating the game based on that data. In WalkScape, I implemented "manager" singletons that store and manage data for various in-game elements. These managers include skills, items, characters, crafting recipes, locations, and more. During the game's loading process, these managers are responsible for retrieving data from both cloud and local databases.
Dart, the programming language used for building Flutter apps, is the primary language for programming WalkScape, accounting for about 99% of the code. I also utilized Xcode and Kotlin for handling OS-specific functionalities, but their contribution to the overall codebase is relatively minor. The versatility of Flutter allows the game to be built for both iOS and Android, streamlining the process of providing the game to users on both platforms.

Development Tools

Now, let's shift our focus to the development tools I have been working on in recent weeks. Early on, I recognized the need to create tools that would enable our team to add content to the game dynamically. Thanks to the complete control I have over the game engine, I managed to accomplish something quite uncommon in game development—adding content while the game is running and being able to test and modify it in real-time.

Insight to the development tool UI

These development tools are closely tied to the different data managers in the game. Each manager has its own user interface within the tools, allowing us to effortlessly introduce new content. When new data is added or modified, the corresponding manager refreshes the relevant game components, seamlessly incorporating the changes in real-time. This means that while playing the game, I can add new locations, activities, items, and more without writing a single line of code or restarting the game. If we decide to implement the added content permanently, the tools provide an export feature, allowing us to integrate the new data into the game.
For those curious about the technical implementation, I have devised a code that converts in-game objects into JSON format, which can be stored locally. The JSON files generated by the development tools exist separately from the "real game files" but overwrite any corresponding content when necessary. This approach offers the convenience of easily resetting any changes with a simple button click, as the overwriting files can be deleted.
Although the development tools are still just nearing completion, they have already demonstrated their immense potential. In just about an hour, I was able to add nearly all the locations across the entire Jarvonia region. The tools provide valuable insights during content creation, such as indicating the number of steps required to reach certain skill levels for specific activities, making the balancing process much easier. They also provide comprehensive statistics for creating loot tables and other essential game elements. Moreover, these tools allow us to add a new item on the fly and immediately test its impact in the game. This level of flexibility even extends to modifying existing items in real-time with just a few taps.
One intriguing idea I have been contemplating is the possibility of opening up these development tools to the public at some point after the game's release. This would enable players to create mods for WalkScape, potentially transforming the game into entirely different fantasy settings like Lord of the Rings, The Witcher, or Game of Thrones. With this approach, we wouldn't need to worry about licensing issues. Modders could use the user-friendly development tools (no coding required) to craft their own NPCs, locations, items, quests, and more, ushering in a whole new level of player-created content. Admittedly, this feature would be limited to offline mode, but it could be an exciting experiment and would likely make WalkScape the first mobile game to offer modding capabilities. Personally, I would love to play the content created by the community!

Closed Alpha and Short-Term Roadmap

With the development tools now nearing completion and the ability to add content rapidly, our next goal is to launch a closed alpha version of the game. This version will serve as the first fully playable release, albeit with limited content and some features still missing, which will be included in the closed beta. We aim to have the closed alpha ready before the next development blog.
During the closed alpha phase, we will conduct extensive testing internally with our friends and family, ensuring that we address any issues and polish the game before the closed beta release. Although there may still be some issues, particularly device-specific ones, during the closed beta, we will promptly address them.
As of now, it appears that the closed beta release might not be possible in June. That is why we provided a more flexible release window, expected to be sometime between June and August. We want to ensure that the closed beta is launched when we are confident in the performance and stability of the alpha version. Rest assured, we are working diligently to bring you the closed beta experience this summer. The months of July and August are particularly promising for the planned release, especially considering that many of our players reside in regions where summer encourages outdoor activities.
Initially, the closed beta release will be limited to a small number of players to manage bug reports and feedback effectively. This approach allows us to address major issues promptly, as they are more likely to be identified early on. As we resolve these initial issues, we will gradually invite more players, expanding the player base as the game becomes more stable. The closed beta phase is expected to continue until the open beta, giving our followers a significant opportunity to experience WalkScape. We aim the everyone currently following us could try the game during closed beta!
Few weeks before the closed beta release, we'll open a sign-up form for the beta. So stay tuned for that!

Release of Character Customization for Desktop & Mobile

While the closed beta release might not make it until July or August, we didn't want to leave you empty-handed! We have transformed the character customization feature into a separate web application, which is also built with Flutter. This web application allows you to plan and design your character's appearance. Additionally, you can export the characters you create as PNG images and use them as profile pictures on platforms such as Discord, Twitter, and more.

The tool on PC

We will be regularly updating the character customization tool, as it shares the game's asset submodule and will automatically receive new options as we introduce them to the game. We would greatly appreciate it if you could contribute clothing, face/facial hair styles, hairstyles, and back accessories suggestions. Providing reference photos alongside your suggestions will greatly assist maxchill in creating more options, ensuring that you find the perfect customization choices within the game. We welcome other suggestions and comments as well. Although the user interface of the tool is something I created hastily and not the focus of the tool, please report any significant UI bugs you encounter.

The tool on mobile

You can access the character customization tool at pfp.walkscape.app. We are eager to see your creations and hear your suggestions!
The tool is also available in open source. You can check the repository here: walkscape-character GitHub repository. You can take a look how we achieved this level of character customization complexity if you are interested, or use it yourself as a starting point in your own game. Also, the tool can be used to create your own pixel art customization options and try out how they would look on the character.

Anti-Cheat Measures

One question that frequently arises is how we plan to combat cheaters. We are well aware of this concern and have already devised several solutions that, in theory, should be effective.
Improving the anti-cheat system will be a key focus during the closed beta phase. With only one metric to monitor (steps), we can implement an anti-cheat system that checks the realism of walking patterns. We will develop a background process that timestamps each step, if necessary, allowing us to determine if players are taking breaks, sleeping, or engaging in suspicious behavior. We will continuously refine this system to ensure its accuracy. I personally believe that if we can create a robust anti-cheat system capable of accurately detecting cheating or forcing cheaters to perform poorly in the game to avoid detection, it will discourage cheating to a significant extent. As long as cheating does not impact competition or the in-game economy, it should not detract from the experience of other players.
Furthermore, if WalkScape gains significant popularity, we may seek assistance from Google and Apple to integrate their APIs, enabling us to easily detect spoofed steps. I already believe this is possible on Android, where we can see the source of steps and differentiate between steps recorded by a genuine sensor and those added by an app. As a last resort, we could even calculate steps within the app itself using accelerometer and gyroscope data, bypassing reliance on the operating system for step tracking.

Until Next Time and Personal Reflections

As we approach the game's release, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on how WalkScape has impacted my personal life over the past nine months.
When the project gained popularity in January and February of this year, and our supporters on Patreon and Buy me a Coffee generously contributed to our funding, it provided me with the flexibility to negotiate reduced working hours at my current job without facing any major financial hardship. To prioritize WalkScape, I had to make some sacrifices, which included delaying my university studies. While I managed to attend one course during the spring semester, the majority of the past six months have been dedicated to working full-time on this project.
During the spring, I shared details about the project with my CEO, who wholeheartedly supported my decision to focus on WalkScape. It was an incredible moment when he encouraged me to start my own company. Consequently, my new contract now requires me to work only one day per week, offering me some financial stability during the summer without relying on university student benefits.
Since I was a young child just starting to learn programming, my lifelong dream has been to become an indie game developer (although the term "indie" wasn't commonly used back then). I sincerely hope that WalkScape, with the tremendous support we have received, will enable me to fulfill that dream. I am deeply grateful to all of you for accompanying me on this journey over the past months and helping turn my dream into a reality.
If you are in a position to do so and would like to support us financially during the upcoming summer, becoming a Patreon or Buy me a Coffee member would greatly assist us. To those who have already supported us, your contributions mean the world to us!
This blog post has been quite extensive, delving into various technical aspects that may not be as exciting for everyone. As we near the release, our focus has shifted toward adding content and ensuring everything functions smoothly, which makes it challenging to write about new features that have not been covered before.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and I hope you have a fantastic Monday! We'll meet again in the next development blog post in two weeks. ❤️

So , if in the physical adress of the item 5 I put Wyoming but in the 6 I put Argentina , will they send it back to me in order to correct it because it doesnt match? Or my example is a perfect way to dodge the US based tax treatment?

Sometimes it’s not clear whether a place is a condo or townhome and it’s listed differently in different websites and mls. To make it more confusing, i now sometimes see “townhome style condos” - I assume the actual public records are the most accurate.

$RDY, a Pharma Powerhouse with Robust ESG Credentials, is Trading Below Value and Primed for Gains
Dr Reddys Laboratories (NYSE:RDY) is an Indian pharmaceutical giant with a decade of impressive business growth, and over the past 5 years has become increasingly attractive to investors worldwide. RDY is a compelling long-term investment for those looking for exposure to the pharma/biotech sector, as it possesses impressive ESG credentials that continuously strive to create social value on top of shareholder value.
From a financial perspective its performance speaks for itself; RDY recorded a 15.9% year-over-year increase in revenue, reaching $766 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2023, which ended on March 31. The gross profit also experienced significant growth, rising by 25.1% from the previous year to $438 million. Moreover, the company's profit before income tax reached $161 million, marking a substantial increase of 436.7% compared to the same period in the prior year.

Furthermore, RDY witnessed remarkable growth in its profit for the period and earnings per share (EPS), with a year-over-year rise of 963.6% and 1,066.7% respectively. The company's profit for the period amounted to $117 million, while the EPS stood at $0.70. As of March 31, 2023, RDY's cash and cash equivalents totaled $760 million, as opposed to $610 million on December 31, 2022.

Sustainability objectives have also played a key role in not only allowing them to remain competitive but setting them out from the crowd when compared against international competition. In Q1 RDY featured as the only Indian company cited in Bloomberg's Gender Equality Index for the 6th year running, as well as being included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for its 3rd successive year. Lastly, RDY was also included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in its emerging markets category for the 7th time, underscoring the global recognition this company is receiving for its emphasis on sustainability and social impact.

Amongst their core focuses are access to healthcare services worldwide, and recognizing the importance of patient safety alongside cost efficient solutions for increased healthcare accessibility aided financially through partial grants granted or subsidies offered directly by RDY. This in turn grants them greater market share whilst adhering and positively influencing current socio-economic challenges related health issues –especially during Covid-19 pandemic, where they led global initiatives striving for improved public health outcomes on multiple fronts ranging from vaccine race sponsorships into outright medical supply donations around countries most affected ongoing pandemic situation globally.
Unsurprisingly these efforts have cemented themselves internationally with latest collaborations announced earlier this month including Apollo Hospitals Enterprises collaboration that seeks substantial advancements in areas such R&D innovations , drug discovery, supportive care treatments procedures.
Taking all above into consideration Dr Reddys laboratories provides an excellent long term investment play for investors hoping to tap into the fast growing global pharma/biotech segment, while simultaneously contributing positively towards improved quality help outcomes around the globe, which remains an essential issue earmarked for sustainability development trends.
In nutshell, I believe Dr Reddys represents a good opportunity to broaden portfolio reach, diversify risk via exposure to a RDY’s broad global portfolio, and put money to good use by promoting women’s empowerment and a general ESG agenda. Though this is not investment or financial advice, RDY is looking undervalued and primed for forward gains.

A knowledgeable tour guide can be especially helpful in this regard.
Finally, one of the biggest challenges of business travel is managing your time effectively. With a packed schedule of meetings, presentations, and networking events, it can be difficult to find time to get work done and take care of yourself. To overcome this challenge, prioritize your tasks and set realistic goals for each day. Use tools like calendars and to-do lists to stay organized and focused. You should also make time for exercise, healthy meals, and relaxation to help you stay energized and focused throughout your trip.
Business travel comes with its fair share of travel challenges, but with the right travel hacks and preparation, it can be a rewarding experience. By hiring a reliable tour guide, you can ease some of the stress and navigate new locations with ease. To make the most out of your business travel, it's essential to use travel hacks that can help you stay productive while on the go. From packing light to using travel apps, there are numerous ways to streamline your travel and reduce stress. Additionally, by being aware of common corporate travel challenges such as flight delays, canceled reservations, and language barriers, you can prepare for these scenarios and minimize their impact on your trip.
In conclusion, corporate travel can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. By anticipating potential travel challenges and using travel hacks, you can minimize stress and maximize productivity. Whether it's dealing with flight delays or cultural differences, preparation is key to a successful business trip. By hiring a reliable tour guide and doing your research, you can navigate new locations with ease and focus on the purpose of your trip. With the right tools and mind-set, you can make the most out of your business travel and come back home with valuable insights that will benefit you both personally and professionally.

Introduction
Java has come a long way since its initial release in 1995. In the past two decades, it has become one of the most popular programming languages in the world. Java is not only versatile and powerful but also easy to learn for beginners. As a Java developer, you need to stay up-to-date with the latest changes and updates to the language. That's why we've put together this guide to the latest Java versions and changes.
Introduction to Different Java Versions
There are several Java versions that you can choose from. In this article, we'll take a detailed look at the latest updates to help you decide which one is best for you.
Java has come a long way since its inception in 1995. It's been updated and enhanced with new features to make development easier and faster. There are several versions of Java that you can choose from, each with its advantages and disadvantages.
In this article, we'll take a detailed look at the latest updates to help you decide which one is best for you. We'll explore the changes that have been made in each version and how they could benefit your development process.
What's New in Java SE 15
Oracle has announced the general availability of Java SE 15. This latest release of the Java(https://www.theiotacademy.co/blog/is-java-developer-a-good-career) platform comes with several new features and enhancements. Let's take a closer look at some of the key changes.
One of the most significant additions in Java SE 15 is support for type aliases. This allows you to give a name to a type, which can then be used in subsequent declarations. For example, you could declare a type alias named intList for an int[] type. This provides a more concise way to write code and also makes it easier to understand what's going on.
Java SE 15 also includes updates to the Collections framework. These updates include new methods for List and Map that allow you to perform operations such as filtering and sorting on collections. There are also new methods for copying and converting List and Map instances.
Finally, Java SE 15 includes support for several new language features, including switch expressions and string interpolation.
Essential Updates in Java SE 14
You might be wondering what's new in Java SE 14. Let's take a closer look. This update includes essential enhancements for security, performance, and compatibility. It features important updates to the Java SE Platform and the Java Language Specification, as well as new features for developers.
Some of the most notable updates include support for switch expressions, pattern matching, and lambda parameters. SE 14 also includes enhancements to the garbage collector and the Nashorn engine. And it provides more flexibility when creating small files.
These updates make Java more secure and faster while continuing to ensure compatibility with existing code. They also make it easier for developers to create efficient code with fewer boilerplate.
Exploring the Changes in Java SE 13
So, what have been the changes in Java SE 13? Well, there are quite a few.
The OpenJDK has been amended to include support for Z Garbage Collector which is applied to Linux/AIX platforms. This new Z Garbage Collector can collect both the heap and region-based memory areas. There's also the well-publicized preview feature for Switch Expressions. This works with the Java source code and allows developers to use the switch expressions as either statements or expressions. It also comes with improvements made to text blocks and additional support for Unicode 12.
On top of that, Java SE 13 has seen further deprecations added which primarily focus on legacy code from earlier versions of Java (version 8 and below). This ensures that only up-to-date code is used in a more secure environment going forward.
Finally, there are some important fixes included within Java SE 13 which aim to resolve problems related to java threads and javac compiler issues – making the entire platform more stable than ever before!
Key Highlights of Java SE 12
The latest version of Java SE is Java SE 12, released in March 2019. This version is bringing several new features and improvements, making it one of the most important releases of the year.
First off, Java SE 12 uses Variable Handles to improve access to variables. This helps developers make better use of classes built with non-volatile accesses and makes debugging easier. Additionally, the version enables JVM Constants API which helps developers manage symbolic references from compiled code more efficiently.
Another great improvement with Java SE 12 is the support for low-overhead heap profiling. This means that developers can now profile their applications in a much more effective manner and identify memory leaks better.
Finally, this version also supports shared Archive Files which can help improve performance by reducing the startup time for developing applications. The bottom line is: if you have not yet upgraded to Java SE 12, now might be an ideal time to do so!
Notable Updates for Java SE 11
As you can see, the latest Java version is a major leap from the previous version. Let's take a closer look at what changes and additions have been made in Java SE 11.
First of all, this version provides support for HTTP Client Standard, which enables developers to build secure and efficient HTTP clients with ease. Another big addition is the Flight Recorder feature, which is a data collection facility that helps in profiling and monitoring Java applications.
This version also introduces the Lombok library, which makes it easier to write concise code. And last but not least, the possibility of creating multi-release JARs has been added to this version as well. This allows developers to compile a single JAR file that works across different versions of Java.
With this detailed guide, you now have an understanding of what’s new for every version of Java SE. As you can see, these updates make it easier for developers to create robust and secure applications with plenty of features!
Conclusion
So, there you have it. The latest changes and updates to Java versions. As you can see, there have been some significant changes (and not just cosmetic ones) in the latest versions. If you're looking to stay ahead of the curve, it's important to be aware of these updates and changes.
Of course, if you're feeling a little overwhelmed, don't worry. You don't have to go it alone. If you're looking to get started with Java (https://www.theiotacademy.co/blog/java-type-casting) or to take your skills to the next level, consider enrolling in a Java certification course. Java training can provide you with all the knowledge and skills you need to stay ahead of the curve.

2023.05.29 09:14 DustyPawyay UFC Fighters before and after the IV Rehydration Ban in 2015

i am from the caucasian region, i apologise for my poor(ish) english
also, i would like to apologise for writing an essay, i tried to put this in a few words as possible, but its hard for me when it isnt my first language, so i apologise.
i've been thinking about this for a while now and wanted to share it here.
i feel like when people see a ufc fighter declining post-usada, they conclude the fighters decline is correlated with the inability to use steroids without being monitored by USADA.
i think what some people miss though, is that some of these fighters aren't declining due to the inability to use steroids alone, but the inability to use IV's to rehydrate to a gargantuan size come fight night and having a huge size advantage over their opponents.
two fighters that come to mind here are Lightweight greats Rafael Dos Anjos & Donald Cerrone
the IV Rehydration Ban by USADA was implemented by USADA on October 1st 2015, the first event under the IV Rehydration Ban was UFC 192: Cormier vs Gustafsson
before this, RDA was 9-1 in his last 10, with his only loss being to Khabib (widely renowned as one of the greatest to ever do it) he was also coming off of a dominant performance against Anthony Pettis to win the title.
Dos Anjos not only showed to have an absurd amount of durability pre-iv ban (an example being how he was able to walk through clean headkicks from a prime anthony pettis with little respect) but he also showed to have thunderous power pre-iv ban, as shown by his KO over benson henderson (who is widely regarded to have a granite chin) and him constantly hurting anthony pettis with pretty much anything he landed. Pettis was somebody who was known to be very durable.
Donald Cerrone was riding an 8 fight ufc winstreak with wins over Edson Barboza, Adriano Martins, Eddie Alvarez & a questionable decision against Benson Henderson, with his last loss being a UD loss to Rafael Dos Anjos. Cerrone also showed to be extremely durable, being able to eat bombs from Eddie Alvarez & Benson Henderson like they were nothing, and going the full 15 with RDA in the first fight where they were both effectively using IV's (as opposed to getting finished in 90 seconds in the rematch where they were both depleted)
Cowboy also admitted to using IV's to rehydrate on twitter back in 2012 - https://twitter.com/cowboycerrone/status/250280262070575104?s=46
there was also a sherdog forum a few years ago which recorded in cage weighs of different fighters of different divisions a few years back, and it stated that Rafael Dos Anjos was 188lbs on fight night against Anthony Pettis.
for reference, Dustin Poirier (who is renowned as one of the bigger lightweights) has come out and publicly stated that he typically weighs 176lbs on fight night at Lightweight (20lbs over the divisional weigh in limit)
188lbs would be 32lbs over the divisional weigh in limit, which really puts into perspective on how much of a size advantage Dos Anjos would've had over his opponents.
i'm not sure how reliable that forum was, but RDA did come out a few years earlier (Post-IV Ban) and say that he weighed 186lbs on fight night when he was fighting at Welterweight, so i dont find the idea that he could've been 188lbs on FN at LW pre-iv ban too far-fetched as ridiculous as it sounds.
Post-IV Ban, Dos Anjos started looking noticeably a lot smalledehydrated on fight nights in his following bouts, and would show to have a clear decline in power, durability and speed in his subsequent fights.
he would go onto finish Cowboy Cerrone (who himself was suffering from the effects of the IV Ban by USADA) in 70 seconds, and then go on to get knocked out by eddie alvarez, and styled on and rocked multiple times by Tony Ferguson (who isnt known to possess much power, leave alone as much as the headkicks of Anthony Pettis do.)
Dos Anjos started looking like a depleted shell of himself at 155 Post-IV Ban, and was forced to move to 170 after the Tony loss (where he started having more success, but not as much as he did when he was pre-iv ban at LW, mainly due to the fact he was forced to fight opponents his own size at 170 as opposed to much smaller ones like anthony pettis)
Cerrone would go onto get TKO'd by RDA in 70 seconds Post-IV ban, and would then move to welterweight until 2019, where he would move back down to Lightweight where he looked noticeably much declined in his fights against Gaethje, Ferguson, Iaquinta & Hernandez than he did Pre-IV Rehydration Ban.
the general consensus seems to be that RDA was only depleted in his title loss against Alvarez, and was completely healthy in his fights against Ferguson & Cerrone. but its pretty clear he had a decline at Lightweight once USADA banned the ability to use IV's to rehydrate.
that is what makes Khabibs win over Dos Anjos so much more impressive than anybody else beating Dos Anjos in my opinion, Khabib should get more credit for fighting a peak RDA on IV Rehydration, and mauling him the way he did.
I just felt that people need to understand, the decline of certain fighters post-usada isnt always associated with the inability to use PED's, but rather the inability to possess a big size advantage over their opponents.
would love to hear your opinions, and again, i'm sorry for the essay. i will try to learn to put this in as few words as possible
