2023.03.26 23:01 kingtaze Reviving Infinity Train Idea
Hey everyone!
A few weeks ago, I decided to reach out to IDW Media and ask if they would consider reviving some of our favorite canceled TV series as comics or graphic novels, with the potential of eventually coming back as shows.
One of the shows I specifically mentioned was "Infinity Train", which was recently canceled by Cartoon Network Studios/ Warner Bros Discovery I know that many of us were disappointed by this news, but I believe that the show still has so much potential and could thrive in comic form.
I also suggested that other canceled shows from Warner Bros Discovery and Disney could be revived in the same way, and that there is a large audience of fans who would love to see these characters and worlds continue.
While I haven't received a response yet, I am hopeful that this idea could gain some traction and that we could see our favorite shows return in a new and exciting format. Let's keep our fingers crossed and continue to support these amazing shows in any way we can!
What do you all think about the idea of reviving canceled shows as comics or graphic novels? Which shows would you love to see return in this way? Let's discuss in the comments!

2023.03.26 23:00 milllauy hate the new me…
it’s been 91 days since my (18) mom (58) died and i finally agreed on seeing a friend. i haven’t had the energy to see anyone and well, i was kind of nervous because i’m a whole new person now.. nonetheless i agreed since we were going to see a movie and i thought that that’s nice since i can just watch and enjoy. anyways i just got home and idk i’m just feeling like shit! i wasn’t able to hold the convo w my friend like i used to. that annoys me so much. i used to be so sharp and have good banter. i was witty and joked around a lot but now i feel like my brain’s just empty, tv static, gray mush. i wasn’t able to form coherent sentences for god’s sake. i felt really stupid, i would fumble mid sentence and forget what i was even saying and now i just feel like an idiot. he’s such an intelligent person and i always enjoy our convos so i hate how i am now really. it’s hard to find compassion for myself and since it’s been months now people think i’m ”over” my mom’s death and forget to consider that yes it may still be effecting me. i made a post earlier about losing friends so now i also fear i’ll lose the three i have left. they like to laugh at how i’m skipping school and one even replied to my private story asking jokingly if i were drinking while missing classes and i just replied that i was sleeping. is it funny that i use alcohol to cope? is it funny that i can’t get out of bed? i just can’t… i feel like screaming that i’m grieving and not coping well at all. now i’m scared my friend will drop me because i’m boring to be around with. i can’t believe how much i’m struggling with my self-esteem. i finally conquered my years of self-loathing last year, i was so confident and content. now i’m struggling with everything, my identity, self-esteem, self-worth, self-image. i don’t know who i am without my mom. obviously i was my own person before? so why can’t i recognize who i am anymore. i’m withdrawn and lazy. i used to be so full of life. i used to try my hardest. i feel like i’ve lost myself completely. :-( also side note: why does it feel like cancer is everywhere now? we saw cocaine bear and of course there was a mom who had died from cancer like gee thanks for that escapism i guess..

2023.03.26 23:00 Hotel-Dependent Why Luke Skywalker being broken was a fundamentally flawed idea, especially in a movie that tries to have as much thematic depth as The Last Jedi
So, Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a divisive movie. I think it had good ideas, but it didn't execute them right. Luke questioning The Jedi's purpose could've been a great idea if it was done right. I think that The Sequel Trilogy missed so many chances to tie The Prequels and Originals together, both physically and thematically, and this idea of Luke's beliefs on The Prequel Jedi and their way could've worked really well. I also think that Luke making a huge mistake with Kylo Ren could've worked really well, but it also fell flat because of how it assassinated Luke's character. Luke Skywalker would never for a split-second think about killing his nephew in his sleep. That's literally what Palpatine did to Plaguies. He would've never went into that hut with his weapon, his entire arc in Return of The Jedi and The Original Trilogy is about putting it down.
But where it all fell flat was him being broken. Him being broken and wanting to die didn't work because a mentor character, which on some level they wanted him to be, has to be able to deliver a movies themes forward by training and teaching the new characters. What he says has to have weight and importance. Him being broken doesn't work because if he's all upset we don't respect him and we only think that he's a shell of his former self. If he's supposed to be teaching a younger character and delivering key points, then we have to able to respect him off of something besides the fact that he's Luke Skywalker, and having the suspension of disbelief that there's still some of his old self in him. I can only hold my suspension of disbelief for so long. It eventually gets to a point, because they make no effort to show him becoming hopeful again or do anything to bring him back up, where I can't believe that he'll even help The Resistance later.
I'm fine if this movie gave him an arc, and I actually want it because it continues Luke's story and most mentor characters don't get arcs, but he can't be some sad sack. If he's going to be delivering messages about The Jedi and The Force and how The Jedi failed, then he has to be optimistic, yet wise, and believe what he's saying. His actions and ideas have to represent the lessons that we want people to walk away from this movie, and that's where it all fell flat. Because he was broken, the lessons he was trying to teach had no weight.

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in She Came from the Woods would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so on.As
She Came from the Woods neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).
“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in She Came from the Woods, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's She Came from the Woods.)
“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in She Came from the Woods, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There's also some Easter eggs in there, that's what I meant by the resetting. Maybe resetting' wasn't a good term.only
In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “She Came from the Woods” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.
“They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said She Came from the Woods (2023) FULLMOVIE ONLINE

2023.03.26 22:58 BazF91 Discussion #239: The Godfather (1972)
Director: Francis Ford Coppola
The build-up to my third watch of
The Godfather has been one of immense anticipation. The first time around, I couldn’t understand it at all, as I was not used to a plot so convoluted. According to
my review from a decade ago, I enjoyed it much more the second time, but I’ve still never been completely sold on it; I may have just been saying that I liked it because I knew it was a popular film with a good reputation, though that seems a little distrusting of my younger self. Having watched (literally) a thousand films since then, I reckon that my film-analysing abilities have been honed since then to the point where I can confidently say where I fall on
The Godfather.
In short, I think this is a really great film that is overhyped beyond belief. Many sites and lists have it ranked as the best movie of all time, if not second behind its sequel. I simply cannot agree because the film had inconsistent levels of enjoyability, a convoluted plot that could have been laid out better and, perhaps worst of all, questionable character development for the film’s protagonist, Michael Corleone.
Let’s start right there, as I’m sure that statement will draw the most ire from fanboys. One of
The Godfather’s main selling points is Michael’s journey from wanting to be nothing like his father to becoming a clone of him. In three hours, Coppola has a lot of time to show the steps of this journey, yet frequently, it feels as if a few are missing. After trying to guarantee his father’s safety, Michael has a bad run-in with the police boss. In the next scene, Michael suggests killing him. How on earth did he wind up there? We’re really supposed to believe this guy who wants to be nothing like his father would suggest murdering a cop just like that?
He is subsequently forced to evacuate to Sicily where he meets the young Apollonia, and instantly forgets about his girlfriend Kay, played rather pathetically (on purpose) by Diane Keaton. Now he’s a dog too? We don’t see him having any sort of internal struggle over this decision to be unfaithful, so we must assume he’s always been this way. Perhaps he was lying at the beginning of the film when he said he never wanted to be like his father. Had there been a more logical progression from the start of the film to the end, I would have been more satisfied, but it’s nevertheless thrilling to see Al Pacino in Godfather mode at the end of the movie.
And that’s where I come to my points about enjoyability and convoluted plot. The beginning of the film throws a lot of information at the audience and very little action, and it could be hard for even the most attentive viewer to understand the ins-and-outs of the dynamics between the father Vito, the sons and the Five Families. Fortunately, it’s not dreadfully important to understand everything in detail, just to know that Vito is anti-drugs, while the other families are pro-drugs, hence the beginning of the conflict.
The Godfather is a slow-burn film that just keeps getting better and better, which unfortunately means the first hour is nowhere near as good as the second or third. I’m not quite sure how this could have been addressed, except that Scorsese managed to handle an avalanche of crime exposition far more entertainingly in
Goodfellas, while the first hour of
The Godfather feels like a slog to get to the good bit, punctuated by an inspired moment of brilliance with the famous ‘horse head’ scene. And even that scene, on reflection, is a little sloppy; two scenes prior, Woltz is shown showing off his favourite horse, adding nothing to the plot except foreshadowing what is going to happen later.
That’s really the end of my complaints, I just want to get to the good stuff. What a great cast! Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Diane Keaton and Talia Shire all in one place makes for a very good time indeed. It was astonishing for me this time to recognise Shire from the
Rocky film series, where she also plays a hysterical, downtrodden and tragic woman. Hold up... She’s Francis Ford Coppola’s sister?! You learn something new every day! At any rate, she’s fantastic in this and the scene of her breaking objects in her house before being beaten by Carlo was particularly hard to watch.
Where to land next…
The Godfather is a film chock full of iconic scenes, which have been referenced and parodied many times in the intervening half century, most entertainingly in a Season 4 episode of
Modern Family. Those creative decisions that boost the emotional and cinematic payoff, such as Kay looking back through the door as it closes on her, are what make this film so brilliant and well-remembered. Vito Corleone’s death as he frolics with his grandson is filmed in the most unusual way, looking largely unchoreographed and filmed from multiple angles. It’s a shame, however, that the film seems to switch from ‘classic scene’ to ‘completely forgettable scene’ and vice versa in the blink of an eye.
The violence. When it comes, it’s brilliant and terrifying, but am I too much of a savage for wanting a bit more (especially at the beginning)? At any rate, Coppola does a good job suggesting Corleone’s influence without a plethora of gory imagery by what kind of wishes he grants at his daughter’s wedding, while the example of the horse head shows that he has seemingly unlimited control. With that scene, one has to wonder, beyond how the beheading was carried out, how it was inserted into the bed without Woltz even waking up. That’s power.
I find it hard to get over how much hype some films get, especially by critics - looking at you,
The Rules of the Game. When I find an overly lauded film to be just okay or even good, I feel as if I spend more energy focusing on the flaws and what stops it being as brilliant to me as everyone says it is, while I’d rather just enjoy the things I enjoy about it.
The Godfather is a solid piece of entertainment that does a spectacular job of condensing a very long and complicated book into a film you could theoretically watch in an evening (though you’d have to start early). If it had been made today, it would probably have been conceptualised as a mini series, which would allow us to understand the inner workings of the families much better, which can feel rushed in Coppola’s film. But the advantage of the 1972 film format is Coppola himself, who turns the novel’s most riveting moments into occasions of cinematic bliss. I wish I could say I loved it as much as everyone else does, but some of the elements just fall a little short for me; liking it a lot will have to do.

2023.03.26 22:55 dsefdssw How To Watch Scream VI (2023) Online for Free Reddit?
Where to watch Scream VI: As of now, the only way to watch Scream VI is to head to a theater when it releases on Friday, March 10. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or buy on digital platforms like Vudu, Peacock, Apple and YouTube, or become available to stream on Paramount Plus.
Watch Now: Scream VI Online Free
"What's your favorite scary movie?" the original Scream killer infamously questions Drew Barrymore's Casey Becker over the phone, his voice equally throaty and flirty. "You have to have a favorite, what comes to mind?" he continues, prompting the teen to reveal her top-tier horror flick (it's Halloween) before threatening her life.
This memorably haunting 199VI scene (which doesn't end well for Casey) jumpstarted the campy, bloody, beloved franchise we know today.
Directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, the Scream franchise's sixth installment — aptly titled Scream VI — will hit U.S. theaters on March 10, 2023. The highly-anticipated film will see Ghostface terrorize New York City, as the four survivors of the latest Ghostface slayings "leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter" in the Big Apple.
Starring Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), Hayden Panettiere (Nashville), Samara Weaving (Ready or Not), Courteney Cox (Friends), Mason Gooding (Booksmart), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Yellowjackets), and Melissa Barrera (Vida), among others, Scream VI is said to be "potentially a hundred times gorier" than its 2022 predecessor, according to the latter star.
While diehard Scream stans will likely dash to the theaters on Friday, casual viewers may prefer to experience the wrath of Ghostface from the comfort of their living room sofas. So, will the meta-slasher be available for streaming?
If you're wondering when and where you'll be able to watch the film today, you can check out our guide below. We also added our predictions for when you'll be able to stream Scream VI online at home.
When Does the Scream VI Movie Come Out?
Scream VI officially hits theaters on March 10, 2023. But you can catch early screenings as soon as Thursday, March 9.
Following its release in theaters, the film will be available to stream on Paramount Plus. Expect the movie to hit the streamer 45 days after its theatrical run, which should be sometime in April. it's most likely that Paramount Plus will be the main platform that will stream Scream VI.
Will Scream VI be on Netflix?
No, Scream VI will not be available on Netflix — at least not anytime soon, since it will be heading straight to Peacock after its theatrical release. In the meantime, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available on the NBCUniversal-owned streaming platform.
Is Scream VI streaming on HBO Max?
No, Scream VI will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. While the company previously released its movies on HBO Max and in theaters on the same day, they have since stopped and have implemented a 45-day window between the theatrical release and streaming release.
Is Scream VI Available Streaming on Paramount Plus
At the time of writing, there is no official streaming release date for Scream VI. However, if we look back at the gap between Scream (2022) hitting movie theaters, before becoming available to stream on Paramount Plus, we can make some guesses as to when it will be up for streaming.
Scream (2022) was released on January 14, before arriving on Paramount Plus on March 8. This means there were 53 days between the big screen release, and the streaming release. The film was also available to buy digitally a week before it landed on Paramount Plus, on March 1. With that in mind, we can expect Scream VI to be available to stream on Paramount Plus around May 2, 2023.
Paramount Pictures has said in the past, however, that most of their films will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount Plus after a 45-day theatrical window. If this is the case for Scream VI, it may arrive earlier than expected, on or around April 24, 2023.
Is Scream VI streaming on Prime Video?
Amazon Prime Video subscribers might be disappointed because ‘Scream VI’ is not a part of the streaming giant’s library. Alternatively, you have the option to turn to similar films using your subscription, including ‘Smile,' 'Bram Stoker's Dracula,' 'Let the Right One In.’
The bad news is that the movie is not likely to come to Prime Video. Paramount Pictures movies used to head to Amazon Prime Video about a year after the theatrical release, but that’s changed with a lot of movies recently. Instead of heading to Prime Video, they’ve gone to Paramount+.
Is Scream VI Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new movie Scream VI on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
Is Scream VI Streaming Online?
Well, not right now. In terms of the streaming release, Scream VI will most likely follow the 45-day theatrical window before being available to stream online. Due to Amazon's multi-billion dollar acquisition of MGM (the franchise's production company), it's most likely that Prime Video will be the main platform that will stream Scream VI.

2023.03.26 22:54 Crazy-Sea1648 [TOMT] Jungle movie where boy meets his grandmother as a girl
From what I can remember as I watched this as a kid, the movie was made around 80’s-90’s and involved a boy who somehow ended up on an island and found a girl there. This girl helps him survive on the island and then helps him get home by circling the rim of a jar with her finger and making a sound. The boy then wakes up in the hospital and his grandma shows us something the girl had on the island, from what I can remember this is the plot of the movie. Any help is much appreciated

2023.03.26 22:51 HokageEzio Thriller Bark is better than Alabasta and I can't pretend that it's not; Manga reader's first experience with the Anime - Thriller Bark Saga
| Summary/TL;DR I owe the Thriller Bark arc an apology. In the past I felt about this arc the way I think most fans treat this arc. The only things people really care about from this arc in terms of general discussion are Brook's backstory, Nothing Happened, and maybe sometimes Usopp's fight. Going through the arc again I feel like this arc is significantly better than it gets credit for, and we get some great moments for some underutilized and underappreciated Straw Hats. I feel like Moria being a lame fight is what really knocks this arc down for the community, which I get, but I think there was a lot more good in this arc than bad even with that. Thriller Bark Saga I've been reading the manga up to date weekly since the Zou arc started, but with the increased quality of the recent anime I've decided that I want to go through and watch all of the anime before becoming a weekly viewer. And when I say all of the anime, I mean everything. All the movies, all the fillers, all the specials. If it's on MyAnimeList, I'm putting in my best effort to find and watch it. This is not my first experience with the show as a whole, so none of these are a first experience with the story as a whole. But I do think watching it animated (and watching it knowing the context of certain things) has led to some new opinions over the course of this. I've done one of these for each saga so far, which you can find here: Onto the new stuff: Anime Arcs Ice Hunter Arc Don Accino For a filler arc I thought this arc was pretty nice. I enjoy these filler arcs where we get to see a bit of the new crew dynamic for a new Straw Hat joining, and this arc had a lot of Franky action with him showing off the upgrades of the Thousand Sunny and what he brings to the crew. As somebody caught up with the story I think it was fine, but it's probably not one I would advise to somebody just watching for the first time. I really enjoyed the Robin storyline with the little girl and their bond over the course of the arc. That did a lot of the heavy lifting as far as storytelling on the Straw Hat side. And the Phoenix Pirates were pretty likable, even if there's a much more prominent character who probably has a thing or two to say about being a phoenix. I like when these filler arcs incorporate something from the upcoming story as one of the foundations of the arc, in this arc it was the fact that the Phoenix Pirates' vice captain sacrificed himself to save the captain and his crew. He believed the captain could be King of the Pirates, which is obviously alluding to Zoro's sacrifice at the end of Thriller Bark. A nice addition for those who are in the know about what's coming next. The final fight between Luffy and Don Accino was honestly really good for a filler arc, I was surprised. Usually in filler arcs when it's all said and done the villain goes blasting off like Team Rocket once things get serious, but Accino actually put Luffy in a bind and had a pretty cool devil fruit. Made the arc end on a strong note and puts it on the higher end of One Piece filler. Chopperman Merch God Not much to say about this one since it was only one episode. I liked it, funny story to have Chopper face off against Usopp and defeat him via cuteness. Chopper is the Merch God for a reason, and I can do nothing but pay my respects. Thriller Bark Arc The best Straw Hat recruitment by a long shot I didn't go into this arc expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. Like I've said, I've read the whole story, so it's not like I didn't know what was in the arc. But seeing it all play out, I came away from Thriller Bark with a deeper appreciation for it. And like I said in the title, I actually ended up enjoying this arc even more than Alabasta (which is probably equivalent to blasphemy for some people). The build up of Brook's story and the slow build up of Franky and Robin learning Brook's story, to finding out why Brook cares about the afro, to finding out that the crew met Laboon and that's who he's waiting to meet, it was just so good. I feel like Brook is a little underappreciated by the fanbase just because Brook hasn't really had many storylines since joining the crew. Besides Whole Cake Island he hasn't really had a lot to do. Somebody has to be the least favorite crewmate, and in the community it's pretty soundly Franky and Brook for that reason. This arc to me was like the arc of under appreciated Straw Hats shining. I loved the Chopper and Hogback storyline, it felt like Chopper was really growing up. I know a bunch of people find Hogback annoying (and he is), but I just loved seeing a genuinely angry Chopper with a villain getting under his skin. And having it be one he held in such high regard made the point a lot stronger. Also finding Oars' weakness to ice and his weak arm, Chopper pulled a lot of weight this arc. Usopp vs Perona, just a great fight all around for Usopp. Him turning into Sogeking again to pull through, the 10 ton hammer, it was all great. And I loved how much Franky cared about Brook and helping him throughout the arc. Not really a Straw Hat duo you think of as a fan, but it was nice to see here. And then there are the more popular Straw Hats of course, I loved the Ryuma fight and Zoro earning his respect. Nami took a bit of a back seat in this arc but I liked the stuff with her and Lola. Luffy always pulls through of course. Robin teaming up with Chopper and Franky for most of the arc was again, a nice duo you don't usually see combat wise. Sanji... let's pretend this arc never happened. I think the main thing that probably kills this arc's reputation is that the Moria fight just ends up being kinda lame. The ramifications of the fight are intense (and I liked that the end of it was basically building up to the timeskip with the crew acknowledging they were ill equipped to protect Luffy), but Moria himself just did not pull his own weight. He spent most of the arc just running around and teasing Luffy, and then when he finally does fight he overdoses on shadows and Luffy headbutts him a few times. There's no iconic "Luffy vs arc villain" moment here, and I think that's what usually pulls the whole arc together and determines how people feel about it overall since that's the arc villain's presence. I really liked what Moria represented as far as having his crew die unable to protect them in the New World, but you can really feel how nobody inside or outside of the story respects Moria. And that sort of determines the emotions of the entire arc imo. Kuma obviously stole the show from him in the end, and Nothing Happened is a moment that needs no discussion for it's impact on the community as a whole. I think if Moria had a genuine fight with Luffy people would feel a lot differently about this arc, but then again if Moria genuinely fought Luffy instead of defeating himself he'd almost certainly kick his ass. So I get it. The moment where Luffy gets to tell Brook that Laboon is alive and they met him, that's one of the most emotional moments in the entire story. Just hearing Brook be so glad to be alive, I think that's the best moment of the arc (no disrespect to Zoro). While Alabasta clears this arc in terms of the combat and the villains, I think moments like that and the character moments are what have me saying this arc is slightly ( slightly) better than Alabasta. Spa Island Arc Content. This arc is a little weird because the Spa Island section and the Brook episode are like two completely different storylines. And the Brook episode does a lot of carrying for this arc that boosts it higher. So I'll talk about both. The Spa Island stuff was just really weird, and the villain was quite possibly the most incompetent villain I've come across in this entire watch through so far. He's going way to the bottom of the list. I did like the storyline of the dad off doing his research and making both daughters believe in him, it was a cute but short storyline. Foxy shows up again because that man is the king of fillers, I haven't seen a character this dominant in filler arcs since Tenten. And we got to see Nami and Robin in bathing suits, so it can't be all bad. That brings us to Episode 384; this is genuinely the best filler episode in the entire series so far. If you haven't watched it, you really should. This is the type of filler that I really enjoy from One Piece, where it's a new member joining the crew and we get to see more of the crew dynamic than we would ever see in the manga. Brook, having spent 50 years alone, is eager to please everybody on the ship by doing tasks for them because he's terrified of being kicked off the ship for being a burden. He doesn't want to lose his friends again. Of course this isn't how Luffy or anybody on the crew thinks of friendship, but you can't blame a guy who hasn't had human interaction for the majority of the last 50 years. I just really loved everything about this storyline. Considering this arc was 3 episodes but includes this one, I have to rank the arc much higher than the Spa Island portion warrants. This episode was just that good. Movies One Piece Episode of Alabasta: The Desert Princess and the Pirates Robin finds the Going Merry This movie is definitely a recap and not a substitute or summary in any way for the original story. On top of some of the changes made to make the story move quickly, there's honestly just so much context missing from the original story. For example, they show Bon Clay's ability and how he can transform into people (including Cobra) because that's pretty critical to the arc. But the X mark that is created because of that really doesn't play any role in the story. They spoil that the X mark is under the bandages at the beginning of the movie, and Vivi never has to prove that there's a catch when Bon Clay tries to trick her. Obviously the most important part of the X mark is the end of the arc, and that's there of course, but the context of why it was a key moment is gone. Speaking of gone, they completely skip over Ace and Smoker even being part of the arc. Ace isn't part of the arc as much as Smoker obviously, but that's back to the context of the movie. The whole Mr. Prince thing, Smoker realizing Luffy is one of the good ones, all that stuff is gone in the movie. This is a purely Straw Hats and Vivi movie. That being said, if you just want to see high res versions of some classic One Piece fights, it does a decent job of that. The fights are much shorter than they were in the original, but you get some snapshots of the key moments. If you come into this movie with the mindset that it's just a fun way of breezing through some old moments, I think it's fine. If somebody is trying to use it to avoid watching Alabasta for the 30 some odd hours it would take to get through, I think they'd be doing themselves a disservice. One scene I did really enjoy from this special that doesn't exist in the original story is how Robin ended up on the Merry. I wish this was a scene from the actual manga, it would have been so good! Robin is stumbling around looking for places to go after Luffy saved her, and she brings up how she's been saved by people with that D. initial twice (thinking back on Saul saving her). Then she looks up and she's in front of the Going Merry, realizing she found a place to go. This scene doesn't work in Alabasta obviously since it would be a huge spoiler, but I think this scene would be absolutely perfect at Going Merry's funeral. Everybody thinks about their favorite Merry memories and Robin's happens to be when she asked to join the crew. But if they just slid in this moment of her and Merry alone with her realizing she had a place to go, I think it adds even more to the scene. It shows Robin actually taking that first step to be vulnerable and join them and not just her being Mrs. Cool when she was on the ship. And it's nice that the first crewmate she thinks of other than Luffy would end up being Merry. Very nice scene. One Piece Episode of Chopper Plus: Bloom in Winter, Miracle Sakura https://preview.redd.it/r9fxru0q25qa1.png?width=3832&format=png&auto=webp&s=4de4da7b652d3f689cc7c505da4efd052df64abc I had absolutely no expectations for this movie whatsoever (well... minus the obvious one). The last Chopper movie is still the worst movie in One Piece imo, so I thought that a new Chopper movie would just be shoving merchandising down your throat. But this movie was so good. It's a rewrite Drum Island as if Chopper was the 8th crewmate instead of the 6th. Which is weird, but it really worked in this movie. Robin kinda takes the role of Vivi in this arc (hanging out with Usopp), and Zoro and Franky hang around. It touched on all the important story beats, and the redo of the Hiruluk flashback was great too. This movie did was Episode of Alabasta couldn't do, which is keep the raw emotion of the original story mostly intact. Even Wapol's brother, again it's weird as somebody who knows the story. But it worked. Luffy pulling out Gear 2 and having a crazy fight in Drum Island was something I never expected, but it was so good. And unlike the real Drum Island, I like that the entire crew participates in this movie. Where in the real Drum Island a few characters don't really do anything in the arc if they weren't on top of the mountain. For a retelling of one of the weaker arcs in One Piece, this movie was awesome. Definitely doesn't fit as a replacement (cause it would make no sense), but a nice treat for those who have watched up to this point of the story. Specials Episode of Alabasta - Prologue Straw Hats arriving to Whisky Peak This special is essentially a slight rewrite of the Whisky Peak arc as a way of opening into Episode of Alabasta. Whisky Peak is a short arc, but they go through it at light speed in this special. I'm not much of a Whisky Peak fan in general, so this isn't really for me. I think it did fine for what it is, but it's definitely something I feel like you should only be watching if you've seen the original. Because this special is essentially written like they met Vivi on Whisky Peak and then went straight to Alabasta (no Robin hopping on the ship, no Little Garden, etc.) OVAs Romance Dawn Story From the makers of pink Nami and blue Nami, meet blonde Nami We finally get another OVA, this one is for one of Oda's original Romance Dawn stories. The Straw Hats are part of this, so it's not a complete retelling of the original story, but I still thought it was a nice storyline. Silk was a cool character and her bond with the rest of her island really did feel nostalgic of early One Piece with small time pirates terrorizing a small town vs toppling an entire government system. Her storyline kinda made me of Chouchou the dog from Orange Town, which isn't a bad thing at all. Cool, short OVA. One Piece Arc Rankings - Enies Lobby

2023.03.26 22:51 I_could_be_ur_dad [TOMT] [MOVIE] A movie in which one of two soldiers steps on a mine and after a debate, one of them sacrifises himself by lifting off his leg from it and letting the other retreat.
I have a blurry memory of this scene. It happens at the end, or in a clearing in a green forest, maybe right in front of enemy's camp. So one of the soldiers finds his leg on a mine and knows he'll blow up if he lifts it. The other soldier could also have stepped on a mine, I really don't remember. They debate on whose dying would be a fair trade. Soldier2 is assured by Soldier1 that he won't die and just when Soldier2 shows an expression of relief, Soldier1 lifts his leg off and blows up, perhaps also taking enemies' lives to save Soldier2.
I don't know when I watched this movie, but it's living in my head for ages and nobody, no tool, no AI has guessed the title right. I'm dying to know.

2023.03.26 22:50 kingtaze Reviving The Owl House
Hey everyone!
A few weeks ago, I decided to reach out to IDW Media and ask if they would consider reviving some of our favorite canceled TV series as comics or graphic novels, with the potential of eventually coming back as shows.
One of the shows I specifically mentioned was "The Owl House", which was recently canceled by Disney. I know that many of us were disappointed by this news, but I believe that the show still has so much potential and could thrive in comic form.

Production companies : Warner Bros. Pictures.
At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Magic Mike's Last Dance would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so
Magic Mike's Last Dance neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).
“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Magic Mike's Last Dance, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's Magic Mike's Last Dance.)
“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in Magic Mike's Last Dance, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There's also some Easter eggs in there, that's what I meant by the resetting. Maybe resetting' wasn't a good term.only
In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Magic Mike's Last Dance” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.
“They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said Magic Mike's Last Dance (2023) FULLMOVIE ONLINE
Is Magic Mike's Last Dance Available On Hulu?Viewers are saying that they want to view the new TV show Magic Mike's Last Dance on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
Is Magic Mike's Last Dance Streaming on Disney Plus?
Unfortunately, Magic Mike's Last Dance is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it's not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest.
While Disney eventually releases its various studios' films on Disney Plus for subscribers to watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don't arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film's theatrical release.
The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year's third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film's $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it's not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It'd be another story if audiences didn't love the film, but the positive reception suggests that Wakanda Forever will outperform the legs on this year's earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).
As for the rest of the box office, there's little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Black Panther opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Black Panther films and there's still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses, but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.
Magic Mike's Last Dance, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Wakanda Forever season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn't totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn't a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it's the biggest of any film since Magic Mike's Last Dance, though Wakanda Forever will overtake it any day now.
Magic Mike's Last Dance came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season's most durable grossers and one of the year's few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact )
which isn't surprising considering it's the only family film on the market, and it's Magic Mike's Last Dance to grossing four times its $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget , though a number of international markets have yet to open

2023.03.26 22:48 ww23ws Popular TV presenter explains with examples how girls can keep themselves in good shape and what they need to do to become the guest of his show
2023.03.26 22:45 ss2811 The new ex-Disney acts: who do you think has the most potential for longevity?
As I’m sure many others can relate, I grew up with the Disney Channel era of High School Musical, Hannah Montana, That’s So Raven etc., and alongside the shows, Disney also produced some artists with hits.
These artists ranged from smaller ones with moderate success but never managed to gain mainstream popularity as they got older and moved away from Disney (Hilary Duff, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens come to mind), to the artists like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato & the Jonas Brothers, who are all huge stars today and still very much relevant in the pop sphere.
There’s now been a wave of new pop singers who used to be in Disney shows back in the mid to late 2010s, and it got me thinking whether any of them might have a similar trajectory to their 00s/early 10s counterparts?
The most obvious ones are Dove Cameron and Sabrina Carpenter. Dove was on Liv & Maddie as well as other movie roles, whilst Sabrina had a main role on Girl Meets World. Both of them waited a while post-Disney to release their own solo music, and it seemed to work out well. Dove had a big hit with Boyfriend, and Sabrina is becoming a big name too, with the success of Nonsense. Although Sabrina has more singles and projects under her name, Dove is yet to release an album. I do think they’ll both have longevity though, as long as they play their cards right. I’d probably argue that Sabrina is shaping up to be the Ariana/Miley type ex-Disney/Nickelodeon act, in the sense that I can see her becoming a massive name in a few years.
Another obvious one is Olivia Rodrigo, whose success speaks for itself and I think she has definitely cemented herself as an artist first and foremost, as the majority of people probably don’t even realise she was on Bizaardvark and HSMTMTS unless they watched it! In contrast, there’s also Joshua Bassett who has released music too, but I’m not sure what the future looks like for him in terms of success, as the male pop market seems very small.
Are there any other ex-Disney acts you can see being a big name, and what do you think their success will look like?

2023.03.26 22:45 PkmnTrnrJ Let The Interviews Begin - Q & A with...Michael Rosenblum (Voice of Turbo Neptunian & Snowmotron)
| Let The Interviews Begin! Michael's tweet and how I managed to find him When I was informed that the Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow game was closing down, I sought out some interviews with influencers, ambassadors, voice actors & content creators and formatted these in a more structured way. Selfishly, this is to help push myself in to doing Community Management work and have things to show off in my portfolio, but I thought it would be something the community would appreciate & find interesting. This interview is with Michael Rosenblum ( http://www.michaelrosenblumvo.com/) the voice of many a commercial, and also the voice of Turbo Neptunian and Snowmotron in Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow. It was done via Zoom, and both Michael and I bounced around on a lot of topics, so I have shuffled things a little to make sense in the flow, and have edited/paraphrased some words for easier reading. Please enjoy. Let The Interviews Begin! Hello Michael. We have been chatting a bit and I know who you are after finding an old tweet where you mentioned you were voicing Turbo Neptunian, but can you introduce yourself to the Futurama community? Sure. It’s all kind of surreal. In the game I voiced Turbo Neptunian and Snowmotron. I was never able to acquire Snowmotron when playing the Christmas event. Nor was I. It’s such a bummer, but I was able to find videos and see what I sounded like for Snowmotron. One of the biggest compliments of my career came through this though. I saw a video where someone said (I think this was WillBits, but cannot find the exact video/quote) “I think that’s John DiMaggio doing the voice”. I was sitting there going “Woah, someone thinks I sound like John DiMaggio!” I should start off by saying I am a massive Futurama fan! It is probably my favourite show, I can probably quote it inside and out, and it was pretty much a dream come true to be involved in the Futurama universe, even in a small way. So, how did the roles come about? Was it something you sought out, or through your agent? Typically, I would get auditions through my agent. This was an instance of “It’s who you know”. Jam City were doing the Christmas campaign in the game and they had decided they were going to add two brand-new characters to the roster of villains for the game who had never shown up in the show. For whatever reason, they decided they weren’t going to the original voice cast. I believe the plan was that they were going to advertise, have a casting call but the producers for the game said there was no time. I happened to be friendly with one of the writers of the game & the show, and an executive producer of the show. He said something to them along the lines of “Well, I know someone who is a huge Futurama fan and is a voice actor, so will get the genre and the vibe of what we are trying to do.” So I sent over my reel and they responded with “Perfect! Let’s do it, let’s bring him in.” It was surreal, as one day the game writer mentioned he may have job for me, and the next I am recording something for Futurama. The 12 year old inside of me was going “eee!” , you know. As Turbo Neptunian and Snowmotron were brand-new characters to the Futurama universe, what kind of direction did you get on the characters? That’s interesting, because they brought me in to a session with some of the game people, who were not necessarily “Futurama” people and I imagine, if I was there from someone with the show there may have been different direction. At the same time, I feel that they knew what I was about, as they knew I loved the Futurama universe. So I went in, with advice from acting teacher I had, who said “Come in with your pockets full”. I kind of had some ideas already. I was thinking of Elzar, a Neptunian already in the show, who was very over-the-top, so I decided that Turbo Neptunian would have that too and have a kind of “gym bro” steroid-ed up vibe and the game people were happy for me to push that. That one was kind of easier. What about with Snowmotron? That one was a bit more difficult. We were considering what to do, as he was sort of “What if Frosty the Snowman had gone evil?”. We played around with it, and then I started doing happy voice lines like the Frosty The Snowman cartoon and then switching it half way through to be evil such as “I’m just here to say THAT I’M GONNA SHOVE A LUMP OF COAL UP YOUR BUTT.” We played around with that a lot. That’s why I am really bummed that I never got to unlock him, I would have loved to hear everything we recorded. I think I know the answer to this as you have talked about Snowmotron, but did you play any of the game, or get involved in the community? Oh my god, so much. I played the second it came out. Going through all the campaigns, unlocking all the characters. I never spent money on the game, so it was a little slower getting through some of the events & storyline. I was always looking for new updates and grinding through. I followed it for as long as they were following new content. I have seen a few videos from the community. Would you have liked to see the creatives behind it do anything differently? They put so many characters in to the game, even the Pain Monster with one line. I was always a big fan of the Robot Mafia, a bigger campaign around that would have been great. I was excited when Morbo showed up. My brother and I have a “Windmills do not work that way!” anniversary actually. Oh, what’s that? Many years ago, he posted on my Facebook, the GIF of Morbo saying the line. Now whenever we hit that day, Facebook will throw it back up and we will share it with each other again. Morbo’s great! Lrr is great too, a lot of Maurice LaMarche’s characters are all good. Will you be watching the show when it comes back on? I was devastated the first time it went off the air, and the next time too. It’s funny, heartfelt and utterly ridiculous at the same time, so I’ll be there the night it premieres. I have had the pleasure of meeting all the voice cast, met Matt Groening, Patric M Verrone and many others. I’ve sat in on a table read too. It’s really a crime that the show ever came off the air as all those involved are fantastic. Is there anything you want to see in the show, or see more about certain characters? They seem to have an endless supply of ideas. I loved when they dug deeper in to some of the side characters like in Calculon 2.0. It would be interesting to do that. They did it with Lrrr as well, and explored the characters. Obviously more Bender! How do you feel about the game closing down? I stopped playing when the content stopped coming but checked in every month or so after it stopped and did the Cornwood re-run to get Momon, as I missed her the first time, so it was fun to redo those. I would have certainly played if we had more. I will be sad to see it go, as that’s my little contribution to the Futurama universe disappear. Maybe not, do you think we could see Snowmotron or Turbo Neptunian appear in the main show? I hope. That would be amazing, to see Turbo Neptunian as the bodyguard for the workshop next to Robot Santa in a Christmas episode. I’d hope that they’d call me, but also know they may just go “Hey Billy West, can you do some lines?” and I would graciously step aside, because it’s Billy West. It would be wonderful if I did get the call to be in a TV episode, I would have a mix of emotions from crying tears of joy to screaming. That must be tough with voice acting roles. It is, as voice actors experience, we get to audition for things that mean a lot to us. I can’t say what it is, but I did do something for Marvel last year. Actually, I don’t even know what it is fully, they wouldn’t tell me! It was great to be in the room with those people, working on and reading something with their universe, which I really love. It was incredible and great to be a part of it. Finally, to wrap up, if we want to see/hear more of you, where can we do that? Can you share what you’re working on now? I have done a ton of commercials, no need to look all those up! I do a about ten different characters in Final Fantasy XV, and voice Christophe in Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness which was fun. I have also done a few cartoon pilots which unfortunately never made it to air. These have been with some great creators, and you think it will definitely air but for one reason or another they hit a stumbling block and never see the light of day. I was producing a podcast Free Candy Van, a sketch comedy podcast ( https://twitter.com/freecandyvanvo) and our head writer for that was Eric Martin ( https://twitter.com/mrericmartin ) who is involved with Loki. We were friends through something else before and it’s been great to see his career excel. I know this isn’t usual in interviews, but it’s a two way street so I asked Michael if he had anything else, or any questions to ask me, so the bold below is now Michael’s questions to me. Michael - I appreciate all that you (the subreddit) did for us fans during the run of the game to see what I should be doing & strategies to employ. I am kind of curious in to how you (personally) got involved in this too? I think it was mainly that I was posting a lot of memes and content when the game was in it’s lull. I then managed to get in contact with some of the Jam City folks, mostly those working on the Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff game, and made connections from there, and was able to provide some direct feedback. It’s enabled me to do some things I wouldn’t have thought of before, like interviewing Patric and yourself. Michael - Were you a fan of the show? Yes, I remember leaving a family party to watch the very first episode in another room. It seems to be consistently on in my house. Michael - You’re in the UK, was it as big of a thing here? Yeah, it was big here too. However, when the Comedy Central series came on, it was a bit more expensive for people to get it on Sky, but I am sure they found other ways to watch. We chatted a little more and then ended with a great story from Michael, back to bold for me. Michael had a great Futurama story to share below Here’s a story about my obsession with Futurama. They did a few events in LA, at a comic book store called The Meltdown and had some of the crew there. There was Patric M Verrone, David X Cohen, Peter Avanzino, Maurice LaMarche and I think Matt Groening showed up at the end. They aired three episodes on a projector and ran live commentary whilst it was going on. In-between the episodes they did trivia, with 30 questions total for prizes. My friend and I were in a two-man team, the writers/crew in another team and some other fan teams too. We got 29/30 questions right! We tied with the writers! We both got the same question wrong! What question did you get wrong? It was “What was the name of Fry’s college’s mascot?” Flying Mongooses? No, it’s Whitefish. He talks about flunking out of college and then says “Go Whitefish!”. It’s just that one line. One team of seven players got all 30 right and they got Season 8 DVDs signed by all the crew there. However, we will call this poetic justice, as we got a better prize. For second place we got giant bus station sized posters signed by all the crew who were there, and Peter Avanzino drew Bender & Flexo arguing on there which is so cool. I’ll always be able to say that I tied the Futurama writers at Futurama trivia! Thanks once again to Michael for speaking about Futurama with me, speaking about voice acting and his role in the Futurama universe! submitted by PkmnTrnrJ to FuturamaWOTgame [link] [comments] |
2023.03.26 22:43 GrimReaperAngelof23 Help me find a movie
When I was around 8 years old (in 2008), my dad was flipping through the channels on tv and he stopped on a horror movie for 10 minutes, but then went back to changing channels because I was too young to watch scary movies. But I remember those 10 minutes and I have been searching for this movie for years and years and I can never find it. I have no idea what the name of it is, but hopefully you can figure it out from the little descriptions that I can remember.
In the scene, there was a couple that ran into a bedroom and locked the door. They were running from something; I do not know what. The movie looked like it was in black and white, but it did have some color, like the color represented important things (Like the red coated girl in Schindler's List and other movies). Anyways, they were not alone in the room. There were also some creepy looking dolls, a toy clown and spooky floating eyes. Then the clown reached out at the couple, and they died. Then the couple became the haunters. I guess if you die by the evil entity, you become one yourself. And then my dad changed channels.
There isn't much to go off of, but over the years I have tried to look up every horror movie that exists up to 2008. I went through every killer clown movie, every killer toy movie, every ghost / poltergeist movie, and I just cannot find this movie. I have even tried to go in the records of the movie channel from 2008, but the channel was deleted. So hopefully, the masters of horror in this sub can come up with an idea. Does anyone have an idea? Please, I need your help!
