Closer inspection
I've been taking pictures for a few years and have managed to build a decent catalogue of the non-flowering plants in my area. However I have not been looking close enough. I found these structures on some lycophytes that grow near my house and I was hoping yall could tell me what they are. It's above the spore producing organs so I wasn't sure what it could be.

2023.03.26 23:59 Realistic_Effort Selling my collection

Selling my collection
Well, it pains me to sell off my collection, but I'm in need of cash flow more than I am my SWRPG collection.
It's been nearly a year since I've kept up with SWRPG news and my brief searchings seem to indicate SWRPG is out of print.
All of my books are either untouched our in near mint condition. The spine of my Force and Destiny Core rulebook is starting to go, as indicated in the image above.
I'd be looking for about $40 per Core rulebook. $20 per Sourcebook and $10 per GM kit. It's not easily visible, but I have 1 of each of the GM kit adventure things for Force and Destiny, Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion. I've also got 2 sets of dice which I'll throw in for free.
DM me your contact/shipping info. I can do PayPal or whatever is convenient to you.

2023.03.26 23:59 gangiman88 Sudden problems after oil change

Can you please help me assess what may be the problem with my car after an oil change?
Background
My car is a 2010 Hyundai Elantra GLS. I'm not a car enthusiast, but I can do simple maintenance like oil changes. However, about two months ago, I noticed small amounts of oil leaking from under the car near where the drain plug would be. Due to my work schedule, and that I don't own a house (can't do auto maintenance at home), I didn't have the time to take my car to the nearest self-service garage to properly inspect and perform any repairs until yesterday. But, during these two months, anytime I needed to drive the car, I always checked to make sure that the oil level was correct. My oil level had dropped from the full mark to squarely in between the full and low marks during this time, so I never needed to top the oil (hope this give you a sense of how slow the oil was leaking). Also, no other issues nor indicator lights on the dashboard were noted with the car. Car ran fine.
Issue
Well, things changed dramatically yesterday after I performed a simple oil change. I confirmed that the leakage was from the drain plug (did not see leaking from anywhere else but the drain hole), and what's more, that I had likely stripped what little remaining threads left on the oil pan's drain hole previously. This probably happened roughly 8 months ago, either by cross-threading or overtorquing the plug, when I last did the oil change myself. Now, the drain plug spins without fully tightening anymore. I also saw some metal shavings on the threads to my drain plug. Did a search here on this subreddit for a possible quick solution and ended up installing an Eco-Plug to rethread the drain hole. Thought I had solved the problem.
However, after completing the oil change and driving back home, within minutes, the oil indicator light turned on and I heard what sounded like tapping noise from the engine bay. I immediately pulled over and checked under the hood. No smoke. Oil levels were still good. But it appears that the Eco-Plug didn't completely block the leak, as I saw an oil spot when I peered under the car. I decided to get the car towed back to my apartments, and not to the nearest auto shop because, I would preferably like to bring it to a Hyundai Service Center but they were closed.
Questions
Has my oil pump suddenly gone bad, resulting in a low oil pressure and the oil indicator light going off? Or would the improper seal of the drain hole (resulting in oil leakage) be sufficient alone to cause a low oil pressure? If this is true, why didn't my car suffer from low oil pressure when it was previously leaking for two months prior to yesterday's oil change? And the weird engine noise, is that engine-knocking that I'm hearing? Did I damage the engine by driving it for a few minutes yesterday and again this morning around my apartment's parking lot? Not to mention, the car was running and had to be driven onto the tow truck's tow bed.
Anyways, I plan to call the local service center tomorrow when they open. Never needed any major repairs until now. What would be the first proper step here? Ask the service center for a diagnosis only before committing to any estimated repairs? Would the service center or other auto shops (if their estimate is cheaper) allow me to drop the car off (via towing, obviously) without scheduling an appointment, considering this might be an emergency repair? Or will I have to queued up for an appointment like with any other service? Finally, if I decide not to go with the dealership's service center, would I need to keep towing my car from one auto shop to another for them to individually diagnose and provide their estimates? Or would they take one shop's diagnosis in providing an estimate for repairs without seeing the car in-person?
A long read with lots of questions, I know. But I'd appreciate any insights offered. Thanks very much.
TL;DR:
After an oil change yesterday, the oil indicator light came on and weird tapping sounds are coming from the engine bay when the car is running. Although oil is leaking slightly as well, oil level remains good for now.

2023.03.26 23:58 throwawa341 Thinking of shutting down general investment account due to capital gains tax changes... do I make sense?

Can I run through my logic with people on here for advice please?
Currently the majority of my investments go straight into a Vanguard ISA S&S ISA, held by Vanguard.
Remaining few investments are individual stocks, generally tech stocks, held in Degiro (general investment account, GIA)
Due to Capital Gains Tax halving over the next two years, I am thinking of just closing my GIA, "cashing out" (under 12k current limit) and putting all my money into the S&S ISA in Vanguard funds. I have available ISA allowance left this year.
I'd like to stick to Vanguard as a broker due to fees and because I like the general interface. I previously had a broker that did both stocks and Vanguard, but I moved due to the relatively high fees (both with the overall account fees and the individual share dealing fees).
The way I see it:
Pros + do not need to worry about tax because everything is in a S&S ISA (I am no where near the 20k ISA yearly threshold currently) + less money spent on broker fees vs going to broker that does both + do not have to do a self-assessment form as am PAYE and I potentially would hate to need to do one just because of my GIA account returns in the future. Needing to do one would make me want to hire an accountant, which is just extra fees.
Cons - lose out on ability to buy individual tech stocks, which so far, have had better returns over multiple years compared to vanguard
The way I see it, right now, in the small numbers I invest (<£3000 yearly in GIA account), the extra hassle of managing tax just isn't worth the extra potential returns.
Does this make sense? What would people recommend?

2023.03.26 23:58 crazygamerWTF Is there a way to make this modpack less grindy?

Hey all, just what the title says. I have been playing for about a month now and I am only level 19. Granted, I did play the pack for nearly 2 weeks before actually unlocking vaults because of chromatic Iron. That's besides the point though. I work a full time job with overtime and don't have as much to play as I'd like, so is there a way to progress faster? I love this pack and it is very fun, but even playing in casual mode is difficult for me. It also doesn't feel rewarding to run a vault. It always is the same loot. I have yet to get an omega room or challenge room. Any tips or ways I can progress faster would be nice. Thank you. Have a nice day.

How to Rank a Nail Salon in Google Maps

Local companies who wish to attract more clients and distinguish out from the competition can utilize Google Maps. But how can you improve your nail salon’s Google Maps ranking and increase its visibility? We will discuss some suggestions and best practices that can assist you in optimizing your Google Maps listing and achieving a high ranking for relevant queries.
Some of the steps you need to take are:

Claim and complete your Google My Business profile.

This is the first and most important step to rank on Google Maps. You need to verify your business information and add photos, hours, services, and other details such as LGBT-friendly, Non-smoking, Pet Friendly, Air Conditioned, Free Parking, Free Wi Fi that can help customers find you and learn more about you.

Get more reviews from happy customers.

Reviews are one of the most influential factors for ranking on Google Maps. They also help you build trust and credibility with potential customers. You should encourage your customers to leave reviews on your Google My Business profile, respond to them politely, and address any issues or complaints.

How to Rank a Nail Salon in Google Maps
Use local keywords on your website and listing.
Keywords are the words and phrases that people use to search for businesses like yours on Google. You need to use local keywords that describe your location, services, and niche on your website content, title tags, meta descriptions, headings, and listing descriptions. This will help Google understand what your business is about and match it with relevant queries.
Optimize your website for mobile devices.
More than half of all Google searches are done on mobile devices, especially when it comes to local searches. You need to make sure your website is fast-loading, easy to navigate, and responsive on different screen sizes. This will improve your user experience and signal to Google that your website is high-quality.

Build citations and links from other websites.

Citations are online mentions of your business name, address, phone number (NAP), and website URL (W) on other websites or directories. Links are clickable references to your website from other websites or blogs. Both citations and links help you increase your online authority and visibility, as well as boost your ranking on Google Maps.
These are some of the key steps you need to take in order to rank higher on Google Maps for your nail salon business. By following these tips, you can improve your online presence, reach more customers in your area, and grow your business.

I don’t seem to remember much of my childhood all I seem to rememberis just pokemon and games. I think my brain only remembers happy times usually. 2023.03.26 23:56 mr_boizoff Moondrop Quarks DSP review. The charming quarks

Moondrop Quarks DSP review. The charming quarks
How do you think some $10 headphones sound? Well, not a question to start with. Do you think some $10 headphones work at all? Would you want to know about them?
These are the questions I’m going to expertly (ha!) answer below – in this Moondrop Quarks DSP (hereinafter – MQDSP) review.

What’s included

https://preview.redd.it/erxlnbqcn5qa1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d450ea4a8188d63b5e4814f556a25caa19078957
Besides the headphones, the kit includes:
  1. 3 pairs of eartips;
  2. some papers;
  3. fabric cover (wow).
All this comes in an absolutely unremarkable one-use box.

Design, assembly, technology

The plastic enclosures are completely transparent. The design is rather primitive and not so engineered (or even assembled perfectly), but the headphones have a cylindrical shape, which, combined with their small size, makes it pretty easy to fit inside almost any ear.

https://preview.redd.it/fsi55hten5qa1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4d5a70ccfc8e6f88b843f205eca0c910a26f82b
The cable is non-replaceable (I wouldn’t even mention it given the price, but just keep this in mind), and a mic unit with volume controls/playback/call controls can be found on the right earpiece cable. The main cable ends with a USB Type-C connector with a built-in DSP module.
The eartips are okay. Just… okay. In terms of comfort, they’re pretty far behind any Spin Fit, Spiral Dots or Spring Tips, but, as you may know, any of those cost more than the MQDSP.
To summarize my impressions on the build: the headphones work, and they didn’t fall apart in a month of use. As for the design aesthetics, any special ergonomic decisions or additionally supplied stuff… Well, there’s none of this, and the reason is pretty obvious.

Ergonomics

I must say that despite the extremely simplified enclosure geometry, the headphones are actually pretty comfortable both with the usual and with the behind-the-ear fit, which I chose as my main option (since this one radically reduces the mic effect of the cable).
If you shove the earpieces deep enough in your ear canals and select the right pair of eartips, it all results in excellent sound insulation without any unpleasant itching or other irritating sensations inside your ears.
It’s also important to note that these are compatible with Android smartphones

https://preview.redd.it/qrnh47uhn5qa1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f51ca3b41b51042d9ae1bd06ff4be8f06f9e9c1a
and with Windows 10/11 PCs as well:

https://preview.redd.it/eqw2pszjn5qa1.png?width=258&format=png&auto=webp&s=f09e49aee7200e3b00ef1bfe239f1f60e6887de3
In the latter case, they appear as a 16-bit/48 kHz playback device, and that’s it – you can’t change the sound bit rate or sampling rate.
Logically, the most common usage scenario actually works: you can use the MQDSP with your smartphone while commuting, and then you can connect them to your office laptop and jump into a conference call. Isn’t it convenient? The mic works nice, the voices are reproduced quite closely to what you remember of your colleague, and you can easily make out what that person’s saying (unless they start talking about breatharianism – mental health awareness y’all!).

Quick specifications overview

  • Design: in-ear closed-back.
  • Drivers: 1 dynamic driver.
  • Impedance: 16 Ohms.
  • Sensitivity: 113 dB.

Subjective sound impression

I’ve been testing these headphones for about 20 hours with a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone, a PC, as well as an ASUS G14 laptop as the sound sources.
The headphones sound saturated, comfortable and wide: the amount of bass is greatly increased compared to the neutral version, while the middle section isn’t suppressed, and the music has that clarity and transparency due to the emphasis around the upper part of the middle section of the frequency range. The upper section is reduced, there’s no accent you’d expect from in-ear headphones at around 8–9 kHz, but there’s also no extended overhangs or any clear understanding of the sound stage.
In short, before any measurements, the setup sounds like a standard Harman situation, but with a bit suppressed around 6–8 kHz. As always, I’m reminding you that the amount of bass/subbass you hear when using in-ear headphones strongly depends on the selected eartips and how they press against the walls of the auditory canal. You know that a measuring rig allows almost ideal fit, and, therefore, the graphs show something you wouldn’t actually see in real use, that is, less pronounced bass and subbass. Another thing to point out here is that the subbass is really masked by street noises when outside usage.
The sound delivery is versatile, pretty much vibrant, but at the same time quite detailed – and no part of the frequency range is hidden at all! This is why the MQDSP certainly work for 95% of users and 95% of music material. Awesome! Of course, any classic or academic orchestral music will sound… not as full and saturated as it could. And of course, the subbass will lose texture and, like, mumble here and there, but it’s kind of natural for such a tuning. It’s just the reverse side of a medal, if you want.
To summarize it all, the MQDSP sound fantastic, and given the $10 price – just un-freaking-believable.

Frequency response measurements

A measuring rig conforms to the IEC60318-4 standard. For each of the earpieces, the measurements were made until 3 reliable and stable measurements were obtained for the left and right channels; any deviant measurement results were excluded. The provided earpieces were used for measurements. The smoothing is indicated on the graphs. As always, for the info about rigs, graphs and headphones measurements refer to my article.

https://preview.redd.it/uyxvvdamn5qa1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=16ce61ba250a2dd73a5c074844bf772f48ea8a86
What you see on the graph is exactly what you hear. There’s a pretty shameful excess rise at 100 Hz; if the MQDSP setup corresponded to the reference curve more strictly in this part, the bass would be perceived as more fast and technical. But, again, you don’t want to bitch about such small blunders, right?
Instead – look at how well the channels are balanced!

Summary

The Moondrop Quarks DSP are elementary like these same quark particles – you just can’t comment on any of their parameters in any meaningful way, since the manufacturer just didn’t want any decorations, any smart tech… We, elite audiophiles, have nothing to latch on here. However, the ergonomics is versatile and quite acceptable from all angles, and the sound quality to price ratio isn’t just good. It’s insane! The whole industry – look at this and take notes! The MQDSPS easily outsound everything, absolutely all wired headphones you’d find in your new smartphone box. And you know that if you buy the latter separately, you’d pay 2-3 times more, right?
Not that the smartphone manufacturers include some free headphones, but still.
All TWS headphones (except for one model, which I’ll tell you about soon) are far behind the MQDSPS, too, regardless of their price.
As for some more expensive TWS models, some ask $50 to $100 for the same sound quality just like that. Greedy morons. Their headphones look a lot more premium, that’s for sure, but what they deliver in terms of sound quality is the same. Sometimes worse.
That being said, the MQDSP are a win-win option for those fancying decent sound for a penny, and very versatile, too: the MQDSP work with smartphones, laptops, PCs (via an adapter). The MQDSP provide that rather simplistic ‘warm’ sound delivery with articulated subbass and the upper part of the middle section of the range. It’s refined and may not be suitable for an audiophile. It goes with almost any music genre and recording quality, it’s very versatile and loved by many. In a good way. Gaming, phone calls and conferencing, enjoying any now mainstream music, movies – while commuting (even in subway), too – the MQDSPS are a gem for this all. I mean, that is perfectly sufficient for a person who doesn’t dive into a panic attack if they can’t hear that third violin in the fourth row on some rare orchestral recording available strictly in DSD format. That is, for an average listener.
As for the obvious comparison with Moondrop Chu, the MQDSP wrestles the Chu down in terms of price and sound versatility, though loses the battle in terms of sound neutrality, as well as build quality and materials. I actually wouldn’t be surprised at all if more users like MQDSP than Chu.
The only concern about the MQDSP is their reliability – and I can’t say anything here, because I haven’t used it for that long to evaluate it. The Reddit nation didn’t post any mass complaints, and it’s good.
Here’s my summary: if you need some great-sounding, but very cheap wired headphones with a mic and a Type-C connection, go buy the MQDSP now. Or, a tip for adventurers: this model might be interesting to just buy and test.
As a conclusion, here are some obvious, but important thoughts about the future. The next step I’d take if I were Moondrop is to release a similar model with a hardware DSP, but with the ability to configure the DSP via an equalizer. Preferably – a parametric one. And with slightly more complex design, slightly more premium materials, an app allowing to store equalizer profiles and (somebody stop me) share them with other users – this would be a dream model. An Eiffel tower among headphones. A shark near a beach crowded with other headphones. It would be awesome, but, judging by the experience of using the Alice, Moondrop doesn’t want to have anything to do with progressive software. But we’re dreamers, and dreamers tend to hope for a better.

2023.03.26 23:53 kelbam Weekday bday party, short notice Sunday, or wait longer?

I’m late planning the party bc it keeps changing thanks to their dads work schedule (too long of story to explain, he’s an asst mngr in retail sales. Weekends are nearly impossible to get off. He had been approved for the original date but that's changed now, and he can't/won't demand it). I may be stuck doing a weekday date but idk if that’s gonna be a good idea…
My sons bday was 23rd (8) and daughters is the 12th (5). Easter is the 9th (Sun), spring break is 3rd-8th. Originally we would have it on Saturday the 1st. I'm going to have to change the date, thankfully it’s cheap to reserve and as long as nothing else is planned this shouldn’t be an issue. Figuring out the date is however (and time if we choose to do a weekday). I'm thinking that Monday the 3rd would be the date. I don't want to push it further out either, but depending on the replies here that may be the only option. Dad may be able to get Sunday the 2nd off, but I think the park shelter is reserved for that date (I will definitely consider this date if it's available!). I was thinking Monday the 3rd, or even Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of that week would work for us, but idk about having it on a weekday. The only reason I'm seriously considering a weekday is because it would be during spring break. I know some people travel, but tbh in our area I don't think that will be the case for most (although some I'm sure), so I'm a little concerned with that as well.
We usually do a small party for them together as well as something special for each on their day (going to eat, a cupcake w candle, small present/s, save the rest of the presents for the party as it’s usually just family and a couple friends). We moved to a new city recently so I don’t know anyone here (I’m struggling really bad with depression so I’ve not been super involved with extra school stuff this year). Of course they want to invite their classmates (will have to invite the entire class per schools rules), that’s fine with me.
I’m planning something small at the park (I can’t do anything big and fancy this year, most at his school don't do anything big). We plan to have a few games and just let the kids play, pizza and of course cake & icecream. I will probably have them open presents at home as I know that can be the best option, as well as including a “your presence is gift enough” note on the invites.
I don’t want them to be heartbroken of no one shows up, especially considering I don’t know any of the parents. I know many people work weekends, it’s probaly about a 50/50 split here I think.
Due to moving they didn't have a party at all last year and I refuse to not have one this year. We don't have family here so a family only party is not an option. It'll just be us and whoever shows up from school (if anyone does). Tbh I've been worried that no one would show up no matter what day of the week we have it on. I know we should have already passed out invitations, which I've had (and will have to redo now I guess 🤦🏼‍♀️), but both have been sick and missed school.
I'm thinking with the short notice that maybe having it later would be best (Saturday the 18th, which dad can possibly get off, or Sunday the 19th. I definitely prefer Saturday if possible, I would know for sure tomorrow), but of course the kids are extremely upset with that option. I don't want to promise they'd have a better party and we are doing it so kids can come and they wait for the later date but still no one shows up. I once went to a party at a pizza place with only one other kid there and it was the saddest thing ever!!
I know many people work and I don't expect anyone to take off, but many people also work weekends (which is our scheduling issue). It's impossible to fit everyone's schedule so I can only decide what may work best for most. I don't mind providing transportation if needed, but not knowing the parents I'm not expecting them to trust us with their kids. I'm considering adding a note to the invitations for this but idk if I even should??
Any advice, suggestions and input is appreciated and helpful! I know this so so last minute and I'm beyond stressed about it now. I was already extremely concerned with the fact that they didn't get to hand out invitations last week and that it would be too short notice (I did receive an invite from my sons school for a party that we couldn't make it too within the same week- invitations given out on Monday for a party on Saturday. I know this so not normal!). I'm now glad that they didn't and I guess that's fate at work, bc idk what we would have done..
I'm just looking for input/opinions on if I should consider a weekday (during spring break), or if I should just push it out even further to do a Saturday, or go with Sunday the 2nd (short notice), if that's an option? I included as much info as possible but happy to answer any further questions. Please no shaming, my depression guilt is already bad enough, as is the financial stress of bdays/parties. I really don’t want to take the easy route of waiting til sat the 18th bc I truly fear that even if I did, what if still no one shows up?

2023.03.26 23:53 kimchiandpastaaa Nail Salon Recommendations in Tokyo

Hello! I was wondering if anyone in this wonderful sub had any recommendations for nail salons in Tokyo that don’t mind tourists ☺️ I saw es Nail salon was recommended by someone from a year or 2 ago but their website says that foreigners must come in person to make an appointment & pay in full before the appointment…I’ll only be in Tokyo (staying near Shinjuku) for a few days so I’m hoping to book an appointment prior to be most efficient. So I would most appreciate any salon recs, esp any that take bookings in advance 🙏🏻 Also is it weird for men to get pedicures in Japan? My husband has always joked about getting one but always chickens out. Maybe he will be willing to try while we’re on vacation!

2023.03.26 23:53 Classic-Dog8399 Saw a man from my dream in person. And he recognized me too.

I was walking down the street with my friend after I had woken from a really horrible nightmare where a man had scared me severely. In the nightmare, a man had come into my work and I got a horrible feeling so I ran from him and out the door. As I ran, he began to detonate a bomb. It was a crazy dream. The contents of the dream matter less, because in the dream, I could see every distinct line and feature of the man’s face. I even got his name in the dream, he was screaming like, “My name is SoandSo, so you’re facing my wrath!”
And today after I woke up from my nightmare I went on a walk. On that walk, I ran into the man from my dream. He obviously wasn’t evil or crazy like in my dream, just a regular dude. Normally, I would dismiss him as looking like the guy from my dream. But he looked identical.
The worst part was, he stopped to talk to me and said I looked really familiar, but not in a flirty way or something. We were talking casually, trying to figure it out. But I realized he had the same mole as the guy in my dream, same eye color, hat, etc.
So I asked him if he was (name) from my dream. He looked really shocked that I knew his name. He asked if he had worked with me or gone to same school as me, but that would be near impossible because he looked to be about 70 years old. I’m in my 20s.
My friend with us was really confused by the whole ordeal. He said the old man looked confused as hell when I said his name. And it looked like the man remembered me too.
But what in the fuck happened? Do I need to get on medication? Should I tell a doctor?
Are psychics real? Has shared dreams been documented?
I don’t feel weird or anything, but is it likely I have some kind of unknown mental illness?
And how the hell did I know his name? Why did I know his name?
I asked my parents if they had any old friends by that name and they didn’t. It’s not a friend’s dad or anything either. I recently moved here, so it’s not anyone from the past.
How do I check for carbon monoxide poisoning?
Can anyone possibly explain what happened? I’m scared!

2023.03.26 23:53 Calicat05 I am looking for a strapless bra (36E suggested by calculator). Measurements included in post

I'm on the hunt for a strapless bra. Calculator gave me size 36E/F as a result. My best fitting bra is a Smart & Sexy unlined 34DDD but I find the front of the straps where they meet the cup to be painful. My usual daily bras are 38D Wacoal Embrace Lace Plunge (I have several). The wires could stand to be a bit wider and the straps fall down, but overall they are very comfortable and i like the shape I get from them.
Current measurements are 36/34/32 loose/snug/tight, and 41/45/42 standing/leaning/laying. I have been losing weight recently and intend to lose more, but the only measurements that have really changed are my tight and laying measurements (both went down by approximately 1/2 inch since the last time I measured). I have had a breast reduction, so my roots are wider than average.
My shopping options are Walmart Kohl's and Hanes in person, and all of the online options. There are no Nordstroms or local shops near me. Can anyone recommend anything that would be a good starting point?

I think getting yelled at when I was just eating near them triggered me. I was fine and after taking a shower I felt sad?? I wanted to cry more before but I couldn’t and now my face is a waterfall. Man I hate this. I can’t even journal cuz I’m afraid of ruining my pages

2023.03.26 23:51 ShugarP NEED A BIKE FOR MY WEDDING (Leicester)

Hello fellow bikers, I hope this reaches someone who can really help me.
Basically, I'm getting married on July 6th and I want a bike for my wedding 'entrance'.
I just need it to ride slowly into the wedding venue to look cool in the photographs, and then slowly ride out of the venue with my newly wedded wife! (And then return to the venue with the bike 5 mins later after waiting right next to the venue entrance). I tried looking for bike rental places near the venue (Lutterworth/Leicester area) but had no luck. I'd preferably like to ride in on a Harley or something similar with a low seat height so my wife can get on too.
A bit about myself:
I have a full A licence (had it for one year now)
I used to ride a BMW F800Gt, but in the process of selling it to raise wedding funds and it will be gone by the time wedding comes around, hence this post.
Willing to pay a reasonable amount, I don't mind paying for a days worth of rental, even though I need the vehicle for just 3 hours.
I can also throw in an invite to my wedding to sweeten the deal, so you get some nice food for free, and get to go to a stranger's asian wedding (if you haven't been before) ;)
If you are or know anyone who might be interested, please get back to me, thanks!

2023.03.26 23:50 mrcantrilllad My first and only paranormal expirience has always stayed with me

My only paranormal experience was wild
So to start I'd like to say writing stories or tales isn't my strong suit and I struggle with paragraphs and punctuation but I'm going to try as best I can to break it up a little to make it easier to read.
Okay so to start this I want to say I'm now an adult 28 year old male. This story happened when I was around 15 years old and to date still blows my mind. Okay so for context when I was 15 I was a little pot head I loved smoking weed so whenever i got chance which was basically every day I would get high with my friends.
We'll come back to that later. I grew up in a town in the uk that was huge for a town we had nearly 100k residents so yeah pretty big.
Where i used to live was in like an estate full of houses. I had a best friend at the time who lived about a 20/25 minute walk from my house but in order to get there you had to walk through a wooded area that led to a big lake, you would walk around to get to near his house.
So one day randomly I was out with my friend who I just mentioned plus many others when we noticed a lot of police presence in the area near the woods plus there was a police helicopter up in the air. Being curious we followed the police to the woodlands that separated our houses.
we went through the woods to the lake where the police and ambulance workers where, they where amongst many bystanders at this point. We got there and starting asking people about what happened. We where told that a young boy around the age of 7 had drown in the lake near the path where everyone was gathering.
Over the next couple of days police where trawling the lake looking for the child who they knew was there because his friend ran for help when he fell in and couldn't get out. 2 or 3 days after he slipped in the lake authorities found the young boys body's which was big news in my town.
No later than 24hrs after the boy was found the local council installed a black metal bench on the footpath near where he died with a little plaque commemorating his life.
Okay so that very next day I was out with my friend over near where I lived we where getting high with a bunch of other friends we knew. By the time we where done getting high we decided to go back to his house to sleep because my mum would have gone crazy over the fact that we where high.
We started to walk back to his house at around 11pm it was really dark out. We passed my house and eventually got to the woods. We walked through the woods and got to the start of the lake, we started walking down the side of the lake down the path towards where the kid drowned and the bench was.
We where just talking nonsense as high teens did when I noticed that when the bench got into sight that there was a man sat on the bench.
Now I was a bit freaked out by this but didn't say anything yet, it was 11pm near the woods in the dark it was creepy but when I got a little closer I noticed I could see what the man was wearing and he was dresses as a priest.
You know black jacket white collar. Upon seeing this priest I sighed some relief because I just pressumed he was praying or something of the sort for the kid that drown in that spot about 4 days earlier. So after noticing this priest I just watched him sit there.
As I got closer and closer I didn't say anything to my friend who was right next to me but we collectivity stopped talking once we noticed the man. As we got closer it was more obvious he was a priest and then once we got within about 5 metres .he was gone.
Like gone gone. I felt like I blinked and he just disappeared. When we was walking past the actual bench where I seen him sat there was nobody there but if he was to have gotten up and walked away I'd have seen him its a one track walk way.
After I got to the bench I turned to my friend who was just as confused and spooked as I was. I asked him if he'd just seen that "man" sat on the bench.
I didn't want to say what type of man because the way he was dressed was very obvious as to what type of man he was. But as I asked him "did you just see that man sat on the bench" he said "yeah the guy dressed like a priest"
when I tell you my heart sunk I can't explain that feeling or that situation to this day. What gets me is I purposely asked my friend if he seen the "man" and he corrected me by saying the man was a priest. If it was a person they'd have had to get up and walk away from us in a straight line down the path which we'd have seen or they'd have had to walk past us but no, when we got close POOF gone. Still to this day its my only paranormal experience but blows my mind every time I think about it.
