“Wait”. The voice is so sudden I don’t even realize it’s my own at first.
Mosun looks up at me, confused. I’m confused too. Thiva’s right in there. I want to storm in, but there’s something wrong, there’s
A recording of a crying baby I shake my head and step back, motioning for him to follow me.
Another scream echoes through the hall. Mosun swallows, but lets go of the handle.
Think. You’re in charge of a bunch of terrorists all gung-ho to go Helter Skelter on humanity. You’re a sadistic alien psychopath. You mutilate animals. You keep trophies. You don’t give a damn about your sister. You kill humans. Your tools for that are firebombs that go off when they open doors, and recordings of vulnerable things in distress. But why here? Why set the trap here? Taking her to a second location makes more sense. Why your base, or this close to it? Why are you luring the human here? It’s not because he’s here too soon. You expected the warpath right away. You know their empathy and protective instincts overrides their rationality. You might not have expected him to gather a posse, but you know the humans are social animals. You had to know it was a possibility. So why… Here… Mosun whispers. “Martin, what’s the matter? Why aren’t we going in?”
There’s something I’m missing. Think. Think! You were happy to get the first human kills while you weren’t even in the area. You might’ve placed the traps or had your mooks do it but either way you were fine with being absent when they went off. Why is this time different? It’s because the humans were gathered in one place, isn’t it? The fire wasn’t about killing us. It was about scattering us and leaving us solitary enough to hunt. Or maybe... Maybe it didn’t satisfy, didn’t scratch that itch. No trophies, no mutilations. Because you are a predator. An ambush predator. You want to be close to the trap, like a spider. You want to look the human in the eyes as he dies, and take something to remember the kill by. You’re here, somewhere.
I swallow, and look at the door. It slides open, like almost all Venlil doors.
Alright, time to Human. I take the strap to my rifle, and gingerly unsling it from the weapon. I grab one of my last zip ties and loop it around the handle, and in the buckle of the strap.
Mosun flicks his ear in a Venlil-esque sign for understanding and agreement at once, and moves down the hallway. I follow him.
The strap and zip-tie together are perhaps two meters in length, so with a bit of an annoyed grunt I take off my belt and add that to the makeshift rope. That gives me a little under a meter extra.
I hand the rifle to Mosun, and hold a hand up to him while clutching the rope in the other.
Three. Two. One.
I close my eyes and turn away in one single motion, tugging at the door handle. As soon as the door parts from the frame there’s a blast, sending me and Mosun to the ground. The air stinks of wood-pulp, smoke, and dust.
Jesus Christ!! My ears are ringing as I get on my unsteady feet and grasp the rifle from Mosun, stumbling my way to the ruined doorway and peering inside.
The room is empty but for shrapnel and debris and a cloud of dust. None of it looks like it was alive.
Oh thank God, the bastards weren’t using live bait. With the high-pitched ringing slowly subsiding I take a few steps down the hall, before falling to one knee from disorientation.
I don’t hear the Exterminator storm up the stairs. But I see them just fine.
The visor’s reflective. The armor’s bulky. The flamethrower’s lit.
With Mosun behind me in the small hallway, there’s nowhere to run. No time to think.
This isn’t aiming at someone’s back, or a sleeping and prone body. I don’t have time to hesitate, so I don’t.
I start shooting from the hip and raise the gun to my shoulder while firing. The weapon jumps in my hand with each pull of the trigger, and from my awkward stance I have quantity stand in for quality. Wood splinters fly from the wall behind the Exterminator, who jerks as some of the shots strike true.
After swaying for a second and losing their grip on their flamethrower, they tumble right down the stairs. The weapon clatters down after them, connected to their fuel tank.
I get to my feet and try to rush over to the stairs. I slam into the wall for my trouble, but get my bearings and raise the rifle.
The Exterminator’s laying prone at the foot of the stairs. They stir weakly and move a paw toward their weapon.
I fire another salvo of rounds. The sound echoes and makes my ears hurt even worse than the blast already did. The Exterminator jerks a couple of times, lets out a shuddering breath, and then goes still.
They’re dead. This is it. I killed someone. I expect it to hit me like a sledgehammer. I expect to end up doubled over, hurling my guts out. That’s what you always see in the movies.
Instead my response is as anticlimactic as the killing itself: I just hope it was Renak.
I feel Mosun’s hand on my back. He speaks with quiet sympathy. “…Are you alright?”
I sigh slowly. “Yeah… Yeah. Predator, remember?”
Some of his usual energy creeps back into his voice. “Oh, I see how it is. You get to say it.”
We head down the stairs while I fiddle with my makeshift rope to restore my belt and rifle sling to their proper places. The sling needs to be tied into a knot to be put to use, as the buckle is beyond saving. “Yeah. I’m sure I’ll break down later, but for now we have a-
MOVE!!”
I see a cylinder about half the size of a Pringles can roll into the room, and push Mosun forcibly into the kitchen. To his credit he doesn’t question it, instead lunging past me.
Instead of a pipe bomb blast as I had feared, the grenade starts leaking thick white smoke.
They don’t have CS gas and that thing looked homemade. So probably phosphorous. I look around the kitchen desperately before finding a salad bowl in the dishes. I immediately turn the faucet to full blast to fill the bowl with water while the hissing grenade spreads its noxious fumes. I can start to smell and taste the acrid, garlic-like stench. My body starts coughing, my eyes watering and lungs itching.
Yeah. Phosphorous. Fuck. Mosun coughs a few times and tries to cover his mouth with his arm. “What are you d-doing?!”
As soon as there’s enough water in the bowl, I turn around and lunge at the grenade. Using an awkward double-handed dunking motion, I trust centripetal force to make it work as I flip the water-filled bowl and slam it down around the grenade.
There’s a mess of sloshing, and a lot of hissing, but no more gas escapes. Water slowly starts to leak out from the bowl’s edges, but by the time it’s done it’ll have stopped the reaction.
“Mosun, w-wash your… Oh FUCK OFF!!”
Halfway through my statement I see another Exterminator enter the room. They step over their fellow’s body without a glance and raise their flamethrower toward us.
I raise my rifle in turn and begin firing: three shots in rapid succession.
Before I’ve had time to adjust my aim they’ve already disappeared from view down the hallway beside the stairs, long tail visible for a split second before vanishing. I’ve never seen a Venlil move as sinuously and quickly as that.
I cough a couple of times and wipe my eyes. It doesn’t help. When Mosun appears with a glass of water however, I can dump it directly onto my face. My stinging eyes cry out with relief.
After just a few seconds of exposure to the gas, I’d love a date with an eyewash station. But it’ll have to wait.
Mosun takes the lead wordlessly, motioning with a paw for me to follow. So I do, stepping over my kill in the process. Unlike the Exterminator, I can’t help but look down at it.
There’s so much less blood than I expected. As Mosun rounds the corner into the next room, he’s forced into an awkward duck against the doorway as a stun rod swishes through the air. He kicks out at the assailant with a growl, and lunges forward into the other room.
I follow as quickly as I can.
In the living room, the two are already locked in a brawl. Mosun’s shorter than the Exterminator, and has less range.
I make a guess and try to distract them. If the Yotul gives me some distance I can shoot. “Renak!”
The Exterminator freezes for a split second, and Mosun gets a good kick in.
Guess that’s you then, motherfucker. Renak rolls with the kick and manages to get Mosun’s leg caught in his arm. The stun rod swings down, and Mosun’s forced to block it with his arm. The electricity courses through him and he gasps out, dropping to a knee.
Without a good angle, I drop the rifle and trust my sling to keep it from hitting the ground. Instead I charge in to join the fray.
With a wild and poorly planned left hook, I manage to get Renak to take a single step back. Enough for Mosun to rise to unsteady legs. The little badass weaves a few times as he moves into an elegant-looking stance. “Ambush, ambush, ambush. You only know the one trick, huh?”
In response, Renak drops into his own stance. The stun rod’s held in one paw, high near his shoulder. The other paw’s held outward in a warding gesture.
Feeling left out, I get into a boxer’s stance. Though all this excitement’s making the wounds on my right arm ache and act up.
The three of us are still for a moment. “…There’s just you left, Renak. Your terrorist group’s done for.” Technically there’s one other Exterminator left unaccounted for. But I don’t see a reason to tell him that.
He tilts his head toward me for a second. I see myself reflected in the visor.
Mosun’s the first to move, lunging in low. I charge in right after. Renak doesn’t step back, instead swinging the rod down.
Mosun leans back so far he’s almost prone, using his tail and one arm as leverage to kick up at Renak’s arm and stop the descending blow. The movement is beautiful, and wouldn’t look out of place in some sort of Capoeira. By all rights it should break the arm, but the heavy Exterminator armor takes most of the force.
I come in with my own simple straight punch with my left, but I overextend and Renak swats it aside sharply with his own free arm. Instead of relenting, I jab with my right. I catch him on the shoulder and do little damage.
Renak shifts his stance and raises his baton to swing it downward at me. Mosun moves to intercept, but Renak’s leg lashes out and catches Mosun’s knee from the side. The swing that was coming my way turns into a descending thrust at the Yotul, who gets the baton jabbed straight into his torso.
Mosun’s shriek fills the room as he thrashes under the coruscating electrical blow, and I strike Renak with everything I’ve got in a desperate and unrefined haymaker.
I catch the bastard right in the visor and hear a loud sound. It
hurts. Renak staggers back with a yelp, dropping the stun rod, and turns to look squarely at me. I’ve cracked his visor, and probably broken a finger or two in the bargain.
I stare for the length of a breath at the cracks in the reflective surface, seeing my own rage reflected in a dozen fractured images.
Renak calmly reaches behind him and pulls out his sidearm. He doesn’t even glance aside as he extends his arm and puts two bullets into Mosun. The gunshots echo in the enclosed space.
“
NO!!” I hear myself shouting as I fumble for my rifle. Renak turns his arm toward me and fires again. I hear the crack and a whistle as a bullet flies right past my head.
A second bullet whizzes past and strikes the door frame, tumbling past with a ricochet whine. It missed only because I’m falling to one knee.
With my own rifle raised, I return fire. We’re firing at each other from mere feet away. I fire three times. I miss the first shot, but the second hits him in the thigh. The third takes him in the side somewhere.
He’s spun around, but empties the gun in my direction as he staggers into a dash out of the room, toward the basement.
It’s only when I rise to my feet that I realize I’ve been shot too. My left leg burns, and can’t carry my weight. I awkwardly hop over to Mosun and kneel to investigate his wounds.
His collarbone’s been shattered by one bullet. Another has caught him on the inside of the shoulder. I don’t know Yotul anatomy, but I’m guessing if it’s caught a lung or an artery he’s in real trouble. “Come on, you can’t leave me alone here; you’re the only one I can talk to.”
He takes a slow breath and doesn’t even bother trying to get up. He simply looks at me and plainly says “Ow.”
I can breathe again. The wound’s leaking, but not spurting.
Oh thank God.
“Christ, okay, we gotta get you out of here. I don’t think it’s immediately fatal, but the blood loss is gonna get you if we don’t stop it.”
“Later. Get him, then help.”
I shake my head. “I can’t just-”
He swats at me with his good arm. “Not safe to extract. And still need the girl.”
I look around and end up taking a blanket folded over the couch and handing it to him. “Press this into the wounds, as hard as you can. I’ll be back.”
“Y-You better be. I’ll be upset if you m-make me walk back to the truck on my own.”
I get up and grasp my rifle, and limp my way after Renak.
Unless he’s got another ambush planned in the basement, Thiva is his last chance. And the bastard knows it.
I make my way down the basement steps, but it’s slow going. I have to use my injured right arm to brace myself, holding the rifle ahead with the left. My adrenaline’s starting to go down enough that the leg is starting to really hurt. So’s my left hand.
At the foot of the stairs, Renak’s discarded the helmet. The room contains several boxes of explosives, and flamethrowers.
Their weapons stores. Great. In the middle of the room there’s a chair. Bound to it is Thiva. She’s got cuts and bruises over her body, and her beautiful fur is matted orange all over.
Behind her stands Renak. He’s got a knife to her throat.
I raise the rifle and stare right at Renak. “Let the girl go.”
Thiva gasps out as she sees me. “Martin!” She tries to lean forward, but the blade presses harder into her neck and she shrinks back into the chair.
Renak stares back at me, head-on and with both eyes. When he speaks, his voice is emotionless and without inflection. He sounds bored. “Move a muscle, predator, and Thiva dies.”
I look at my friend. She looks terrified. “Hey Thiva, don’t worry. I’m here. Everything’s gonna be fine. Alright?”
She gives the tiniest nod.
Renak growls. “Look at me, predator.”
My eyes shift back to his again. They’re dull and empty. Just black beads of glass set into his face. It’s like looking at a machine. A complex structure, but no soul animating it.
My leg is trembling, and I feel hot and sticky blood running down it. “You don’t need the girl. You can just let her go, and we can leave, and nobody else needs to die.”
He blinks slowly. “My sister is better off dead than as a predator’s mate. If I can’t save her body from you, I can save her honor.” To emphasize his point, he lets the knife dig further into her throat. I see some orange running down it, and the fur beneath Thiva’s eyes are damp with tears.
My breathing is heavy, and my aim is shaky. “I stormed a terrorist compound to get this far. I’m not leaving without her. You can have her over my dead body.”
He stares silently for a moment. “Fair enough.”
He raises his other arm toward me with a smooth and mechanical motion. His sidearm is in it.
I pull the trigger.
The bullet takes him in the head. With his strings cut, he drops in a heap.
I drop the rifle and rush forward to undo Thiva’s bindings. As soon as I do, her arms fly around me painfully tightly. I return the hug as best I can.
“Thiva, listen to me. Can you walk?”
She gets up and winces, but nods. “Y-yeah.”
“Okay, good. There’s a Yotul upstairs named Mosun. He needs immediate medical attention. We’ve got a truck waiting, we’re gonna head up and get both of you out there.”
One of her eyes suddenly moves up and stares behind me. I turn in place.
Vansi’s standing in stairway, taking in the scene.
“Thiva… Go. Now. Now!” I rise to my feet and put a hand on her back, walking alongside her for a few steps before she rushes the rest of the way past her mother and up the stairs.
Vansi doesn’t move to stop her. She just stares at the crumpled corpse behind us.
It’s only after I take another step that her eyes snap to me with fury.
And I realize my rifle’s right at her feet.
She snatches it up into trembling paws and aims it right at me.
“Vansi, listen, I-”
The weapon goes off.
I fall to my knees. My hands reach my stomach and feel sticky and wet.
She pulls the trigger again, and it clicks dry. She pulls another few times, but it’s empty.
I rise to my feet and try to lunge past her. But she simply swings the empty rifle at me. It hits my wounded stomach, and I fall to my side. She swings it down on me several more times, snarling and cursing, until the weapon breaks enough that she simply tosses what’s left aside.
It hurts. Jesus Christ it hurts so fucking bad. I try to think of a way out of this as she staggers past me toward her son. I try to get to my feet again, but fail. I drag myself to the wall, and use it to pull myself up bit by bit. I limp along the wall, smearing trails of my own blood with my hands as I go.
I’m almost at the stairs when I hear an inarticulate scream and feel agony blooming out from my right side. I look down and see the knife, in Vansi’s paws.
Fuck.
I collapse on the ground and try to fend her off with my hands. She stabs me straight through the palm of my right hand, then stabs twice more at my left arm and shoulder. My left arm doesn’t respond to my signals, simply flopping down limply.
With only one chance left, I punch her with my right. Again and again, while she stabs at my torso.
There’s a cold math to blood loss. The more you lose, the weaker you get.
‘
So you see, that's how I am going to die.’ Each of my blows does less than the last. My hands and feet feel ice cold, while my chest burns.
‘
I'll sneeze in the sunlight, or turn my head a bit too fast when someone wants my attention from my blind spot’ Before long I can’t fight back. I simply lay still and hear my flesh tearing and Vansi screaming in my ears.
‘
or show happiness with a smile or a laugh’ I can’t lift a finger or even turn my head as Vansi staggers off of me. My shallow breaths are agony, and I can feel one of my lungs has collapsed.
‘
or god forbid I might try to save a life again.’ She returns with something else in her hands. I close my eyes.
‘
And then someone like your son will show up and burn me alive for it.’

2023.06.04 18:26 DerVaultMeister LC: The Back Branch, Post 3: Session 2, Training Team Termina
| Sorry for taking so long- it's been a long 2 weeks and I'm currently sick. Hell of a time! Regardless, I'm back, and I'll keep it nice and short! Let's get to work! https://preview.redd.it/cjjf7fsvt04b1.png?width=325&format=png&auto=webp&s=445f6464a7d3a64a5df0943d08ecff67ed52c58f The session started as any of the work days do- an announcement of a new abnormality! O-04-A1, Age's Expressions The players' first Aboration, as it was stated by the Announcement, was this being above- later named, Age's Expressions ( from Today's Expressions), is the manifestation of 4 different age groups- Infancy, Adolescence, Adulthood, and Elder. Each of them speak differently, matching said age group and focusing on things that someone matching that expression would- like the Baby wanting Milk, the Teen wanting Freedom, the Adult wanting relaxation, and the Elder... not wanting anything in particular. For the most part, Tune Steel (played by Xavier) was the one to make the first interactions with him- sparring and even meditating with the large abnormality that didn't show outward hostility towards anyone- to the point filling up the energy and quota was child's play for him. So... despite the fact that they seemed safe, Age's had also shown they had a bit of strength in them- making them a Teth. Age's for the most part, even till today, keeps calm and gives advice from time to time- but, if they Players so desire, also use him to spar and give themselves some extra combat exp. But, for the most part, he's become a regular abno to be worked on... similar to the next one... It should be mentioned that when it came to LCBB, it's mostly been chillax- players having interactions with themselves, splitting up within the facility, getting small things from the nest, and mostly thinking about what they COULD figure out about each abno every day, so the days went by quickly. But, for this big boy- he's got a Player that specifically goes out of their way to interact with him- F-05-05, Prince of the Flies The Lantern that stands at around 11 Feet tall, is constantly emitting their blue glow, and paced around the first day they were in containment is a silent boy. He cannot speak, and can only express certain emotions via the color of their glow- or with their hands, and this attracted the attention of Hart Kord (Player Last). She was able to make him open up- mostly due to the fact that it seemed as tho Prince, as he was later referred to as, has a crush on her. Overtime, the two of them have done a lot of activities- from playing ball, hanging out, and the Player even buying him a gaming system later on with games like Mario Party, Mario Kart, Street Fighter, etc., as, she was able to tell by the way he acted that he was more of an adolescents than an adult... and if it had ANYTHING to do with Lord of the Flies- he was pretty young. This, however, has allowed Hart, and even Cornelius (Player Grog) to connect pretty well with him, as it's much easier to speak to the younger one when involving games, relaxation, and even playing to his jealous nature. Cornelius even bought him a large red couch from a furniture store in the nest to be nice! With these 2 Abnos- that filled up the Training Team floor- Frigg had her work cut out for her... So, Aesir, regretfully, decided to bring in one of the other Supervisors he had on call... Loki, Information Team Supervisor Loki, someone that Frigg vouched for and knows her and Aesir VERY well, entered the fray, being the youngest Supervisor at 27 years old. And she was a handful. For the most part, Loki is a prankster, using a bunch of tactics to throw people off- even using her looks and "charms" to throw people off, like walking around the facility shirtless, telling the Players that she's the Head of the City, and even using her Maracas, which are identical, but 1 Heals, whilst the other does Damage- and only she knows which does which. ( just wanna point out that when I'd made her around a year and a half ago- had no idea Sinclair from Limbus Company was gonna get em' too) She's also not above teasing and just being outright strange. For example, she's actively teased Hart that she's possibly going to get with Prince of the Flies, and that, for science, whatever happened in the future was going to be for the sake of research- but, as seen by the Clerks ( I'll reveal the art work for them later, no worries. I like Clerks, too), she's actively gone into corners of her floor and spoken to her plants. The session, for the most part, had a lot more investigating and discovery rather than action since the previous session was action packed- and, as I'd warned my players ahead of time that week- the following one was gonna have a bit of DRAMA added to it. After all- we need more employees to manage the new floors! Annnnnnnnnnnnd that was the session. I know it wasn't as entertaining, but, for the most part, even nowadays, LCBB is on the calmer side of things. I've already made it clear to my players I'm not out to kill them ( but fuck around on purpose and teet on the edge of the cliff, ehhhhhhhhh- whatever happens happens), and, honestly, I enjoy watching the players discover and mess around with stuff like the abnos I've made for them. Regardless of that, next Post, I'm most likely going to continue with Session 3, or it might by an Abno in-depth. Not sure yet. Thank you for reading! Feel free to ask any questions! submitted by DerVaultMeister to LobotomyCorp [link] [comments] |

2023.06.04 15:40 qUxUp (OC) I tested the NYXI Wizard controller for a 27 days on Nintendo Switch OLED. I was bloody surprised by the A/B/X/Y buttons. Here's about a 3220 word old-school text review with some photos. Enjoy! :) (there is also a TLDR for those who prefer short posts)
| TLDR: NYXI Wizard is unique due to it's Gamecube controller inspired design and A/B/X/Y button layout. It's ergonomic for medium or large hands. The D-pad could be improved upon. Currently there is no way to turn off the blinding indicator lights, hopefully it's something that will be fixed in a firmware update. The shape, combined with mechanical triggers, mappable back-paddles, turbo and gyro make the NYXI Wizard a versatile primary or secondary controller. Lastly, the NYXI Wizard's conductive adhesive switches used in the A/B/X/Y buttons are just smashing. They are responsive and pressing them feels perfectly weighty. Whether it's GRID, Crysis, Super Smash Bros or something else NYXI Wizard has got you covered (as long as it fits in your hands). Disclaimer: I wrote everything & took the pictures. This post here is the original source. This is my second Nintendo Switch related text review in our community. The previous review was received quite well and people asked if I could do a joy-con comparison and so I asked NYXI if they are interested in providing me with their NYXI Wizard controller with the purpose of writing an exclusive review intended for the /Nintendo, /Switch/ & /NintendoSwitch/ subreddits. They were. My condition was that the review would be a pure oldschool text review with eight photos taken by me. I get to keep the controller. I won't be receiving additional compensation in any form (no commission fees, affiliate marketing or ad-revenue etc). As my Nintendo Switch controller collection grows, I might write more reviews for our Switch-related subreddits. This review is based solely on my experiences with NYXI Wizard and 27 days of testing. Note: I asked NYXI if they were willing to add a coupon code, they said yes. Here's the code: Jakk (10% off, works on NYXI's official website). Any fees earned by this code go to NYXI. It is not linked to me. If I ever chose to get my personal referral codes, where I earn income, I will state it in the disclaimer. PS Moderators if you want me to remove the code, please say so in the comments or message me. I will remove the code. https://preview.redd.it/xdrs7cbq304b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5f7d10921a0c2dae5d13a3110289a3c2af1f384 About me. Born in 80s. I've been playing videogames since the early 90s. A NES clone was my first console followed by GameBoy and a PC etc. I'm a freelance copywriter. Professionally I've been a part of the gaming tech field & tech journalism for about two decades (Europe/Estonia). It's a interesting field, but it can have an affect on how you view or enjoy videogames. On PC my favorite videogames were Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Rainbow6: Siege & DayZ. On Nintendo Switch it's either Mario Kart 8 or Door Kickers: Action Squad. Now comes the "heartbreaking" story. I lost the ability to enjoy PC gaming about five years ago. A few years ago I wanted to buy a Christmas gift for my fiancee. She was getting burnt out at university. The users of /switch and /nintendoswitch were kind enough to answer all sorts of questions I had regarding the Switch console. So I bought her a Nintendo Switch OLED. She loved it (once she got used to the controls) and it helped with the stress. At some point I thought that I'd try one of her switch games with no expectations. Fell in love with the ability to play on a couch and less serious tone many Nintendo games have (GameBoy flashbacks). And here we are, I don't have to "borrow" her switch anymore. I have my own Nintendo Switch and too many games and controllers :) Cheers :) What this review is and is not. The NYXI Wizard will be reviewed as a Nintendo Switch joycon and compared to other Switch joycons that I own. A major portion of the review will be dedicated to real life use scenarios. A limited amount of technical details will be included. This review will not cover every detail about the NYXI Wizard (such as how to change all of the settings, pair, turbo etc). The manual has all that information and can be found online. What's a NYXI Wizard and what do I think about certain marketing? According to some a major selling point of the NYXI Wizard you will never buy another Nintendo Switch controller again and it will never develop joycon drift. We should always be skeptical when it comes to claims that cannot be backed up by any testing or examples. How do you prove the part of "forever"? While I was never sold on the promise of forever, the NYXI Wizard intrigued me enough with its unique button layout. The box & what's in the box? The box for the controller itself is a sturdy blue cardboard box. Inside there is the controller, a small manual, a 127 cm regular plastic charging cable and an extra set of interchangeable joystick rings. Maybe I'm spoiled by past experiences, but I would really have wished to see some sets of interchangable joysticks inside the box (more on these later). https://preview.redd.it/7iz1hfgt304b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=684faf0f651c15a3d6e2a8c58eb368aa1e26ac42 How's the manual? The NYXI Wizard's manual is decently written, but it's one of those rather small manuals. Luckily you can find the manual from NYXI's website https://nyxigaming.com/pages/nyxi-instructions. https://preview.redd.it/8d6sdjuw304b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=107a74eb943fca82b210f2fb1bf17614726a843a Lets talk about the interchangeable joystick rings & potential for modding. The controller comes with round and octagonal rings. Octagonal rings can be helpful in 2D or fighting games for example (Mortal Kombat). The round rings are suitable for all games but octagonal rings have more limited use. It's a nice extra to have, but it is an extra. It can be tricky to change the joystick rings for the first time. Once you replace the rings about five or more times it gets easier. https://preview.redd.it/qn5sdgl0404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=577d0693fae3721188960bd9952988a60b091173 I personally perform better in games with the more modern round joystick rings. Obviously it's a matter of preference here. However I made more errors in movement with octagonal rings. The difference was about 7%, but to me the difference was there. Currently I have round rings installed and I don't see myself switching back to octagonal rings. https://preview.redd.it/dzy0dc23404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a57c5964bea022d14b320891028c3a64d45262ec Note: When it comes to modding the NYXI Wizard the interchangeable joystick rings make it easier to replace the thumbsticks. You can even install original GameCube thumbsticks with some effort. A youtube video explaining the process is titled "I Made The NYXI Wizard Better..." (shoutout to 128KB). Backlit-buttons. The NYXI Wizard has A/B/X/Y buttons that are backlit and it's possible to change their brightness. Even if you turn the background light off, it only has an affect on the A/B/X/Y buttons. There are two indicator lights on top of both joycons and those cannot be turned off. It would have been a nice feature to have where the indicator lights turn off or at the very least are slightly less bright. Note: I reached out to NYXI about the indicator lights. They informed me that while currently there aren't any such plans they might be able to fix this issue in a future firmware update. Lets talk about the A/B/X/Y buttons. In comparison to Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, joycons or Hori Split Pad Pro, the NYXI Wizards buttons feel more responsive. They require a bit more force to push and it's a pleasant feeling. The 8BitDo SN30Pro has similar buttons but still not quite as good. Overall the buttons have a solid feel to them and are on the heavier side when it comes to the amount of pressure you have to apply. Among the Nintendo Switch joycons and controllers the NYXI Wizards A/B/X/Y buttons have a unique place. Note: I reached out to NYXI for more information about the A/B/X/Y buttons. Here's the reply: "The A/B/X/Y buttons on our controller use the conductive adhesive switches. We chose these switches for their durability and responsiveness. As for the force required to press the buttons, we wanted to create a tactile and responsive experience for our users." https://preview.redd.it/0m5xjuy9404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eae6480ac63d917e43f41ef12a223ffecce1cced The layout of A/B/X/Y buttons. One thing is for sure. The button layout of NYXI Wizard is different. My favorite feature of this layout is the massive A button right in the middle. In the games I play often, A button is one of my most commonly used buttons. Because the buttons are largehave a different layout, it also brings a small challenge to re-learn the locations. It took me about 2 or 3 days. If you end up wanting to use the controller but want to make the layout a bit closer to traditional Swtich joycons then there are a few ways to approach this. - Remap the buttons in the game.
- Remap the buttons in Switch.
- Assign one of the A/B/X/Y buttons to the remappable back-paddle.
What about the D-pad? I really like the looks of hard plastic they have used to make the D-pad. But pressing the D-pad really isn't very enjoyable. The edges feel a bit too sharp, so to speak. I'm not a fan of the D-pads position either. The D-pad is the hardest to reach out of all the Switch controllers I own. Note: I think that a potential upgrade here could be to make the D-pad edges just a tiny bit rounder and move it slightly closer to the left stick. Lets talk about joycon drift and thumbsticks. Joycon drift is an issue where the thumbstick starts to give false signals to your console and move your character in a direction that you didn't intend. It happens due to dust getting into joycons or joycon wear. NYXI Wizard has addressed this by using a hall effect joysticks which is a technology that is supposed to never get joycon drift. Setting the technology itself aside, the thumbsticks feel good to use. Their movement is smooth and responsive. The Wizards thumbsticks are similar in size to Hori Splitpad Pro but bigger than the regular Nintendo Switch joycons. A standout of these thumbsticks is the rubbery finish which is very pleasant to hold. It has a nice grip and has a slightly soft feel to it. Out of all the Switch joycons and controllers I own, this is the best thumbstick finish. https://preview.redd.it/tyn167xh604b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a3f75e060397c5dc9e19a38eafea5d65a2eafbf With confidence I can say that NYXI missed an opportunity by not including extra thumbsticks that are taller or shorter. In the end a thumbstick is a rather cheap component but it can add extra value to the gamer. My hope here is that NYXI might release additional thumbsticks of different sizes as optional accessories. The good news is that I got confirmation from NYXI that they plan to release accessories like thumbsticks with various sizes soon. https://preview.redd.it/q1cn2lng404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7f76014cd98e10b2cb00ca4f9050d44e003f96c The triggers. This controller uses mechanical triggers. These are responsive if you compare them to joycons or controllers that use non-mechanical triggers (such as the official Nintendo Switch joycons or the Hori Split Pad pro). It takes very little force to press these triggers which may be beneficial for longer gameplay sessions. The travel distance of the triggers is pleasantly short and the trigger makes an audiable click when its activated. The short travel distance makes it easier to rapidly press the trigger. The Mobapad M6 Gemini has similar triggers. Hori Split Pad Pro, official Nintendo Switch Joycons & Pro Controller have slightly less responsive triggers in comparison. https://preview.redd.it/63xqj92j404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec840a5ecf52f2e34a44eb66b4aea4d308e9ef41 Ergonomics? If your hands are big enough then the Wizard is an ergonomic controller. One of the main advantages of NYXI Wizard is that while holding it, your finger position is different than when holding a Hori Split Pad Pro or the official Nintendo Switch joycon. Using different styles of controllers can be one little thing that you can do to take care of your hands and fingers. I've used it as my main controller for 27 days and am happy with the ergonomics. This means that it's my main joycon for now. At some point I will go back to Mobapad M6 and then something else or return NYXI Wizard. Gyro, mappable back-paddles. Gyro works well, even in FPS games such as Crysis. There are also mappable back-paddles present on the the Nyxi Wizard. The paddles themselves aren't very well placed in my opinion as they are a bit hard to reach, but they have a nice texture on them and a responsive feel. Among other buttons, you are able to map the back-paddles to triggers (which isn't possible on all joycon back-paddles). https://preview.redd.it/e5tuce3n404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee3c9e2f37263db576d672a16bdfd1a68d6a89b7 The vibration motor. The vibration motor is decent. It isn't HD-rumble, but in a way that's to be expected as the only joycons that have HD-rumble are the official Nintendo Switch joycons. All vibration settings work well, I personally liked playing on low or medium setting. The highest vibration setting was nice when the Switch's volume was louder, otherwise sound of the motor broke gameplay immersion. Bonus content: what may people with smaller hands think of NYXI Wizard? As a new part of the review I asked my fiancee (who has small hands) to test the NYXI Wizard and share her impressions. She was fond of how the triggers felt. The amount of force you had to apply and click of the triggers appealed to her. Another one of her favorite features was the way joysticks were textured. Obviously the yellow one got more praise due to its cute color. NYXI Wizard was wa-a-ay too big for her hands. She pointed out that if she had to play something that requires faster reactions, it would be nearly impossible with this controller. The size of the controller, the distance between buttons is just too great. For games like Picross it was okay, but after some gameplay time the NYXI Wizard made her hands hurt. So what's the verdict here when it comes to the NYXI Wizard if you have smaller hands? Try it before you buy it. It's likely that controller might just be a too big. https://preview.redd.it/apmj5dmk604b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6e78b5bb1168a39b2d94d1fa9b4fcc208cd4e3c Most common questions? Can the NYXI Wizard be used to wake up your Nintendo Switch? Yes it can. Will it fit inside a carry case that's meant for Nintendo Switch OLED + Hori Split Pad Pro/Mobapad M6 Gemini? No it won't. NYXI offers a case for the Wizard on their website. Can it be used as a controller? Yes it can. Final thoughts. The NYXI Wizard is a Gamecube inspired joycon/controller that is executed well with room for some improvement. The asking price of $69.99 seems to be fitting. It doesn't have a direct controller to compare to due to the unique features such as the layout and interesting A/B/X/Y buttons. In my opinion the A/B/X/Y buttons are among one of the best features of the Wizard. Yes, these four buttons aren't mechanical but they have a very pleasant resistance and travel distance. The price is worth it to those who like the size & layout of the controller and value features such as mechanical buttons, triggers & unique A/B/X/Y buttons. Will a gamer benefit from the features that come with the pricetag? Yes, we will (most of them). Will a newecasual gamer benefit from the features? Yes, some of the features (like the mechanical buttons and different layout with good ergonomics). And here is a comparison table. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best). I did my best to rate various features of the Switch joycons that I own. Keep in mind that such comparisons are subjective and ratings might vary from person to person (mostly depending on shape & size of your hands). All of these are rated as joycons and are not rated as a controller. The price is for the regular model of any controller and is based on the official pricing I found/received. This does not include sales or limited edition color schemes that may cost more. Model | Nintendo Joycons | Mobapad M6 Gemini | Hori Split Pad Pro | NYXI Wizard | D-Pad | 3 | 4 | 4 | 3.5 | Thumbsticks | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4.5 | Triggers | 3 | 4 | 3.5 | 4.5 | Buttons | 3 | 4.5 | 4 | 4.5 | Build | 5 | 4 | 4 | 4 | Ergonomics | 3 | 5 | 5 | 4.5 | Features | 3.5 | 3.5 | 3 | 4 | Included accessories | 4 | 3.5 | 3 | 4.5 | Vibration | 4 | 3 | - | 4.5 | Price | $79.99 | $55.99 | $49.99 | $69.99 | Weight | 99g | 155g | 152g | 229g | https://preview.redd.it/lu7ca0q3604b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56b65a75a606bc6af4714062a853910b3bbbfa68 What could be improved upon: - The interchangeable joystick rings are a novelty item for most users. I would recommend them as an additional extra item/accessory that you can add to your order.
- It would be beneficial to have thumbsticks of various sizes. The groundwork is already done and NYXI has made it very easy to swap the sticks. Adding short/medium/tall stick options in the store would make sense.
- Nintendo Switch has a dedicated fanbase and a decent amount of them really enjoy changing the way their console looks. The ability to order sticks of various colors (such as yellow, pink etc) would be a treat to those who like modding their Nintendo Switch and the joycons.
- Additional color schemes and designs/transparent or semi-transparent casings for the controller might appeal to gamers. For example the recently released Zelda themed Nintendo Switch Pro Controller proved out to be a massive hit. Bonus: I got confirmation by NYXI that more colors will be released soon.
- Adding a way to lower or turn off indicator lights would be a welcome change. It's possible to turn off the A/B/X/Y lights but you cannot disable the indicator lights. Be warned: the indicator lights are BRIGHT! If you are gaming in a darker room and have turned down your Switch brightness to preserve your eyes, the indicator lights will stick out like flashlights. There is an easy fix: put a sticker on your NYXI Wizard and cover the indicator lights. However most people don't want to put stickers on their joycons for basic functions.
- Outside of the colors themselves, the plastic used in the controller is a major factor in how the controller feels in the users hands and if users consider it to be "premium". It's worth looking into different kinds of casing materials. Nintendo Switch Pro Controller has a premium semi-glossy finish and the plastic smooth. Another good example is the 8BitDo SN30Pro which uses a matte plastic casing and also feels solid.
- Making the D-pad edges just slightly more rounder would make it more pleasant to use.
- Moving the D-pad closer to the left stick would make it more ergonomic.
- Placement of the back-paddles could be improved on in terms of ergonomics.
- A compact version of the NYXI Wizard might appeal to many.
- Adding adjustable analog triggers might be considered.
- HD-rumble would make gameplay more enjoyable.
- A larger manual would benefit many customers.
- If interchangeable joystick rings ever become sold as accessories then increasing the color and finish options would be a welcome addition to the NYXI selection.

Photography equipment used: Fujifilm X-T4 mirrorless camera, Fujinon XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR lens, Fujifilm MCEX-11 macro extension tube, Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon f/2.4 35mm lens. helicoid extension tube. Closing notes: I hope you liked the review :) Congratulations to everyone who made it to the end! Any and all thoughts about the controller are welcome. NYXI employees will read this post and the comments. So you can use it as a easy way of giving your own personal thoughts regarding this controller (and features you would like to see). Mods if you need me to remove anything from the post that is against the rules, please message me. I will edit as needed. 2023.06.04 15:11 Mission_Matter_3083 Are CodeManager.exe and CodeManager1.2.exe Safe? Concerns about malware.
I've been homebrewing for about 4/5 years now, but I recently decided to use a desktop-based (Windows) .gct file generator instead of CheatManager on the Wii (because it took ages if I needed to switch in/out mods during a play session); the one I got was called CodeManager.
Long story short, I downloaded it from
https://www.zeldacodes.org/downloads/code-manager, obtaining "codemanager.zip" but Windows Defender went totally ape-shit, saying it was an adware PUP of the "GameHack" variety.
So I unzipped the files, which were simply the 2 versions of the program and checked out both on MalwareBytes, which gave the a-okay
on both programs, and then on VirusTotal:
- The first program:
- 4 positives for malicious-ness
- But the community ratings on it were singing high praises about it being good, generally
- The 1.2 one:
- 13 positives for maliciousness
- Only 1 community rating logged, which gave a -1!
I was a little freaked out, but I found out 2 important facts to consider upon researching:
- It looks like the same program that BullyWiiPlaza used in his video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0Kklh9cbi8
- But...I do know that, sometimes, malicious actors can inject bad stuff into previously good programs "under the hood".
- The "ZeldaCodes.org" files are the exact same (Checked using WinDiff (which is ancient, I know!)) as the ones linked by Vega, the admin of MarioKartWii.com in his post: https://mariokartwii.com/showthread.php?tid=37
Thanks for any info/thoughts/experience you can give on whether I have nothing to worry about or if my computer is going to explode.

2023.06.04 14:12 delroth Are Dolphin devs special in bundling decryption keys with the emulator? Is it illegal? A quick look at the ecosystem
Note: was a Dolphin dev for 10+ years, was a board member of the Stichting that backs the project since its inception, parted way with Dolphin roughly a month ago. This is my personal opinion, not an official statement from current Dolphin developers or the Stichting Dolphin Emulator. On
this subreddit 8 days ago b0b_d0e (with a "Citra Developer" flair) mentioned:
That's right, you know how on all these other emulators like citra, ryu, yuzu, cemu etc they all say "dump your keys by following this guide" ever wonder why you didn't need that with dolphin?
BECAUSE DOLPHIN ILLEGALLY DISTRIBUTES NINTENDO'S WII DECRYPTION KEY
I never really spent the time trying to reply to this. At the time I was more busy trying to make people understand the difference between a DMCA notice and what happened between Valve and Nintendo. But then this was also
picked up by my favorite emulation not-journalist MVG who even doubled down on the keys situation in his apology-update video.
So, I wondered: how do other emulators actually fare? I'll let you decide on your own:
Almost everyone bundles keys, even Citra (who I'm sure will argue that their 16 random bytes aren't technically a key, they're just the seed burnt into the 3DS hardware which is used as the source for most of the crypto keys used on the console).
Is this illegal, as
b0b_d0e mentioned? I'm not a lawyer, but I've talked to lawyers in the past, and here's my (personal) analysis.
Are keys copyrightable?
Like many things related to copyright,
it's unclear. The laws are vague and very open to interpretation. One of the preconditions for copyright is generally understood to be that the work needs to be "creative" in nature. This would not apply for all of the keys listed here that are either random numbers, random prime numbers, or just words like "Nintendo".
Interestingly, Apple did try to make copyright applicable to one of their secret keys by making it a Haiku. Poetry is widely understood to be copyrightable. I don't think they've tried suing anyone for copyright infringement on that haiku yet, however they did try to claim it was a "trade secret". Courts
denied that motion with the interesting consequence that their haiku decryption key is now publicly quoted in a court record document (page 3, line 16).
In 2007 the MPAA tried to remove the AACS decryption key from the internet by sending legal letters to website owners(most famously Digg). Some websites removed the keys, others did not. This is sometimes listed as an instance showing that keys can be copyrighted. But in fact, it only shows that the AACS believes they can strong-arm some website owners to remove material. No court has ruled on the AACS decryption key case. If the MPAA believed to have a strong legal case in their favor, it would have been trivial for their army of lawyers to go defend it in court -- and I think it is a notable point that they didn't.
Are keys copy-protection circumvention measures?
17 USC 1201 (DMCA anti-circumvention) has even fewer legal precedents for its grey areas than copyright does. It makes illegal the acts of "circumvent[ing] a technological measure that effectively controls access to a work protected under [copyright]" as well as "manufactur[ing], import[ing], offer[ing] to the public, provid[ing], or otherwise traffic[king] in any technology, product, service, device, component, or part thereof, that [...] is primarily designed or produced for the purpose of circumventing a technological measure that effectively controls access to a work protected under [copyright]".
Note that 17 USC 1201 does not mention encryption keys. It does however mention that the primary purpose needs to be circumvention. So, let's say someone distributes a tool which turns encrypted Wii disc images into decrypted Wii disc images, and requires as input the Wii Common Key. In my opinion, that tool would still have as primary purpose to circumvent a copy protection measure, and bundling or not bundling the key would be irrelevant. As far as I know, such a situation has never been tested in court, so this would be new legal territory which could go either in Nintendo's favor or the tool author's favor -- but I suspect it would go in Nintendo's favor.
Are emulators copy-protection circumvention measures?
Now, the more interesting question is whether an emulator is "primarily designed or produced for the purpose of circumventing a technological measure". I don't think that's obvious. If a court were to rule that they are, emulation for any console that employs DRM is pretty much illegal -- keys or not (again: 17 USC 1201 does not mention keys anywhere).
Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega, etc. have had 15+ years to try and fight that case. So far, they haven't, so I suspect they also don't think it's obvious.
Conclusion
Copyright and the DMCA are vague laws. There are things that are very clearly disallowed: bundling BIOS code with an emulator, for example, since that code would be a creative work. There are things that are very clearly allowed: for example, using a work under the terms of its (explicit) licensing. And there are many many things that aren't clearly allowed or disallowed. Video game screenshots. Video game videos or streams that aren't reviews. What qualifies as "fair use". Whether decryption keys are creative works covered under copyright. Let's plays. Memes. And, whether emulators are or are not primarily designed to circumvent copy protection.
Being in the grey area does not mean you're morally right or wrong. It's just a consequence of the vagueness of laws written in the 90s that have very much not kept up with technology. A third of the relevant law for emulation and circumvention (17 USC 1201) is written to cover what kind of VHS copying is allowed or disallowed. "No person shall apply the automatic gain control copy control technology or colorstripe copy control technology to prevent or limit consumer copying except such copying". Maybe if they went into that much details on emulation or modern DRM technology that uses encryption, we could have clear answers. But we don't, and anyone who claims they have those answers are most likely lying to you.

2023.06.04 13:57 Spectral_Hex "You're a camper" - TIME TO GROW UP
I see so many matches where someone calls someone else a camper.
Firstly, if someone wants to spend some time in the same place on a shooting game, this should only be an alien concept to you if you are more familiar with Mario Kart and less familiar with shooting games. Secondly, every player paid for this game. It is up to the individual how he plays. It is not up to you how he plays. If someone wants to spend some time in one place, he does not need to play by your instruction. It's up to him what he does and how he plays.
The single and only reason you're annoyed by "campers" is that you keep getting killed by them. Stop complaining about how others play the game, and get good.
Spending an extended period of time in one area or place is a perfectly legitimate style of playing. If you don't like it, go play another game. How someone chooses to play a game that they paid for is nothing to do with you what so ever, so shut up moaning. Do you really think you're going to alter the way someone plays by calling them a "camper"? What is the point? You just show yourself to be a childish idiot.
Finally, for Christ's sake set a push to talk key. No one needs to hear your children crying, your breathing, typing, coughing or shooting noises feeding back through your speakers. You just get muted and then there's no point in having a microphone. Stop being selfish and thinking everyone else deserves to hear your background noise. Additionally, you put yourself at a massive disadvantage not having a push to talk key. We can all see your name keying up on the right side when you're in close proximity without a push to talk key, which shows us you're really close.

2023.06.04 13:25 qUxUp I tested the NYXI Wizard controller for a 27 days on Nintendo Switch OLED. I was bloody surprised by the A/B/X/Y buttons. Here's about a 3220 word old-school text review. Enjoy! :) (there is also a TLDR for those who prefer short posts & photos)
Whether it's GRID, Crysis, Super Smash Bros or something else NYXI Wizard has got you covered (as long as it fits in your hands). https://preview.redd.it/k49q2bhagz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91f994f1e24fa73c4000727b9a07096062471dd0 Disclaimer: This is my second Nintendo Switch related text review in our community. About me. Maybe I'm spoiled by past experiences, but I would really have wished to see some sets of interchangable joysticks inside the box (more on these later). https://preview.redd.it/nsc4jorigz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c10d828b86bcc00dc7fd2af0b021d02fd9fc78d How's the manual? The NYXI Wizard's manual is decently written, but it's one of those rather small manuals. Luckily you can find the manual from NYXI's website https://nyxigaming.com/pages/nyxi-instructions https://preview.redd.it/6x8dg11lgz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d734b0bebd090240481762fa09ffa61110131df3 Lets talk about the interchangeable joystick rings & potential for modding. Once you replace the rings about five or more times it gets easier. https://preview.redd.it/nnljp82rgz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b91f1405645fbbff50218ae0ffd7439ded9873bd I personally perform better in games with the more modern round joystick rings. Obviously it's a matter of preference here. However I made more errors in movement with octagonal rings. The difference was about 7%, but to me the difference was there. Currently I have round rings installed and I don't see myself switching back to octagonal rings. https://preview.redd.it/lb544lotgz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5e4787f5bb04068002d544006ff420139bd5f42 Note: When it comes to modding the NYXI Wizard the interchangeable joystick rings make it easier to replace the thumbsticks. As for the force required to press the buttons, we wanted to create a tactile and responsive experience for our users." https://preview.redd.it/d2mgxs50hz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=62d8c9ee78f0932b68a9a763b27e17a3bb897daa The layout of A/B/X/Y buttons.
Out of all the Switch joycons and controllers I own, this is the best thumbstick finish. https://preview.redd.it/mrhzytkuhz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=befcca54e577de4e20006d2f0df32223133db565 With confidence I can say that NYXI missed an opportunity by not including extra thumbsticks that are taller or shorter. In the end a thumbstick is a rather cheap component but it can add extra value to the gamer. My hope here is that NYXI might release additional thumbsticks of different sizes as optional accessories. The good news is that I got confirmation from NYXI that they plan to release accessories like thumbsticks with various sizes soon. https://preview.redd.it/ewkvmcl3hz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95bab1ac1d58bff168430a76b54a139e02c51fb6 The triggers. Hori Split Pad Pro, official Nintendo Switch Joycons & Pro Controller have slightly less responsive triggers in comparison. https://preview.redd.it/9vhv47h5hz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca35f9afc8939377e1b3abed203960177a3671a5 Ergonomics? Among other buttons, you are able to map the back-paddles to triggers (which isn't possible on all joycon back-paddles). https://preview.redd.it/okc69298hz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ecdf60b35665df5c8c2f20d27879a15f153d97e The vibration motor. Most common questions? Can the NYXI Wizard be used to wake up your Nintendo Switch? Yes it can. Will it fit inside a carry case that's meant for Nintendo Switch OLED + Hori Split Pad Pro/Mobapad M6 Gemini? No it won't. However there NYXI has a carry case for it that will fit the entire beast. Can it be used as a controller? Yes it can. https://preview.redd.it/hbzqz6iihz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd391deaeb637c957c43b0b00cc92943da7cf1fa Final thoughts. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) I did my best to rate various features of the Switch joycons that I own. Model | Nintendo Joycons | Mobapad M6 Gemini | Hori Split Pad Pro | NYXI Wizard | D-Pad | 3 | 4 | 4 | 3.5 | Thumbsticks | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4.5 | Triggers | 3 | 4 | 3.5 | 4.5 | Buttons | 3 | 4.5 | 4 | 4.5 | Build | 5 | 4 | 4 | 4 | Ergonomics | 3 | 5 | 5 | 4.5 | Features | 3.5 | 3.5 | 3 | 4 | Included accessories | 4 | 3.5 | 3 | 4.5 | Vibration | 4 | 3 | - | 4.5 | Price | $79.99 | $55.99 | $49.99 | $69.99 | Weight | 99g | 155g | 152g | 229g | https://preview.redd.it/0hlv1k61iz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13243f09426c2717937fc610e1e20e13beb873b3 What could be improved upon: - The interchangeable joystick rings are a novelty item for most users.

"Here we go...(gulps)" Green 'Stache. King of Second Bananas. The original pallet swap. Plain old player two. No matter what, Luigi never seems to be able to catch a break, always living in his brother's shadow. But in reality, he's got many advantages over Mario, such as his jump height and being taller. But while he may be a coward, when it comes down to saving those he cares about, Luigi will find the strength inside him to stand up against his foes, be they Bowser's forces or King Boo's spectral legions.
This thread takes the Super Mario Bros. 'canon' as every Super Mario platformer and all closely linked games (the Luigi's Mansion games, Yoshi titles except for Wooly World, and Super Princess Peach). The sole exception is Super Mario Bros. 2, which is confirmed in the credits to be a dream. Hover over each feat for the game they come from. Any feats featuring a different character comes from a game where they are capable of demonstrating the exact same feat.

2023.06.04 08:05 Said-A-Funny My Skyrim experience
I'll preface this by saying that I'm a young'n. I won't specify my age, just for the sake of privacy. Skyrim has been a huge influence on my life and I thought it would be cool to share for anyone bored enough to read a glorified "little gamer's autobiography" on Reddit. I'm sure I'm remembering some of this wrong, but the timeline by itself should be pretty exact.
I was about 7 at the time, if my memory serves me. Close estimate at worst. As a little guy I was into a lot of stuff, and usually every 2 weeks I would switch topics I was unreasonably obsessed with. Usually the cycle would be Marvel, Cthulhu, werewolves, DC, Predator (the movies and the few games - way too young to be into something like that but it's an interest that remains to this day), stuff like that. During the werewolf phase of this cycle, I went to my dear mom (as you do) to ask her if she knew any werewolf games. After a few instances of this question, she said something along the lines of "well, you can turn into a werewolf in Skyrim". This little answer set off a very important chain of events. One thing led to another, and I ended up with Skyrim on my Xbox 360 on my stupid little box TV. Don't be fooled, this was when the PS4 and Xbox 1 were well into the modern gaming zeitgeist, my family was just really poor at the time. The PS3 and the aforementioned 360 were my consoles. 360 was a hand-me-down from my uncle and the PS3 was an old one of my parents. These were not my first, I played the Wii-U a fair bit and Wii-bowling was my introduction to videogames. Back to the meat and potatoes, Skyrim. I watched a video on my PS3 a few days before on the little box TV, some guy in a little bunch of glaciers in Skyrim turns into a werewolf to fight an enemy I can't remember. This lit up my brain like a wildfire. I immediately fired it up on the 360, one of the probably three games I had on it at the time. It was my secondary console. I played my heart out on the little thing, with only one character. He had my name. Werewolf, ring of Hircine, heavy armor, greatsword, which is what I'd guess is the exemplary character for a 7-year-old Skyrim boy. In my time on the 360, me and my parents ended up moving into a trailer park somewhere else. I never really made it to the end of any of the questlines, and from memory, my playthrough ended without the main quest pursued or any other faction questline for that matter, the College of Winterhold being the exception for reasons I'll give in a second. My most vivid memory of Skyrim at this age goes like so: I'm sitting crisscross applesauce probably only a foot away from this low-quality box TV. A few days before I had discovered that there was a magic forge under Winterhold, and you could do a glitch where you could make Daedric armor without consuming the ingredients if you grabbed them from the box quick enough. Little me was (and still is) obsessed with looking cool in videogames. Daedric armor was my holy grail as a little guy. I instantly pursued the College of Winterhold, and I can't remember this part well but I know there's some way to summon a Daedra on top of the college or something like that - I did that. Killed the Daedra, got a heart so I could forge the armor. After a bunch of time getting the ingredients, I made my way to the forge. I was there, about to put the ingredients in, when my parents are going out the door to the grocery store. (I was in the living room playing. I didn't have a room in that trailer, only really a mattress in my dad's room which I sometimes slept on. I usually took the couch in the living room so I could watch TV instead of his laptop.) My mom asks me "hey, do you want to come to the grocery store with us?" I'm too engrossed in the game and just kind of wave them away. While they're gone I forge a two sets of Daedric armor (with a bunch of save-scumming and error) under the college, one for me and one for my follower, and I am happier than ever. I killed a few enemies in the snow (with my still iron weapons) and B-A Daedric armor. My memory gets fuzzy at this point. I either kept playing for a while or quit close to there. Not important.
Christmas comes and my grandpa buys me a PS4. I stay on that for a while, not playing Skyrim. Soon after, my grandpa buys an Xbox 1.. FOR HIMSELF. Specifically to play PUBG on. He liked PUBG a lot, then. (He's not dead. He just plays other games now. Me and him used to co-op Halo and stuff, but now he's more into mobile games because he's old.) He didn't like PUBG on the Xbox, so he gave it to me. Glorious rediscovery of Skyrim begins a few years later. Mods. My favorite mod at that point was the ported Predator mod (because as I said earlier, loved Predator, still do). Played that for hundreds of hours. Had other playthroughs, too, without the Predator mod. Some were mages, rogues, warriors, I really branched out. I was into the roleplay of it. A lot. Once again, my memory kind of fails me here. I don't have many stand-out experiences from that time period, though I do remember being on voice chat with my friend Joe a lot while playing the game and sometimes broadcasting to him from the now-dead broadcasting thing I forget the name of. Good times. Heavily modded times. Hundreds of hours into Skyrim. Loved every second. What's weird, though, is I still never pursued any of the factions really. Didn't pursue the main quest. I do vividly remember completing the DB questline and being in absolute awe. I loved that. I remember sitting on the couch during one of the important parts of that questline (which I wont specify for spoiler's sake I guess) and I called my mom in to watch because I was so excited. Skyrim is a beautiful thing.
A few years later, my entire family pitches in to buy me a wicked PC and gaming chair. Still have the PC, chair broke a while ago. I play my fair share of Steam games that I could finally play after watching YouTube videos on them for years. Absolute bliss. Then.. another glorious rediscovery of Skyrim. With better mods, too. I decided to go with Oldrim for some weird reason. One of my friends showed me a mod he made as an add-on to another one I frequently used and I really loved it. That was like, the only reason I went with Oldrim. Still have that mod, still use it. Won't specify the mod for privacy's sake. Still played with the Predator mod very frequently, still do, but loved it more because the PC version has way more stuff. Bunches and bunches of playthroughs, around 100 mods, life's good. I make a character named Orrid, a Redguard, who practices the old Yokudan art of Sword-singing. He's still my main character and I'm still going through with roleplay and story arcs galore.
My mom separates from my dad. They don't get divorced, but feel like they'd be happier if they lived in separate houses and just visited each other very frequently. Don't mean to get too real, but it's mildly important. All three of us are still happy, and I have a sister now. She used to annoy me at the other trailer, but now I have an actual room in my apartment and she doesn't bother me 24/7 like usual. Back to Skyrim! I keep playing at the new apartment. It's actually running right now, in my room, in my apartment. Still going with Orrid, having a grand old time. I recently got my mom back into Skyrim on HER Xbox 1.
I go to church. I live in Southeast North America, you kind of have to go to church here. I'm in a youth group, and we have a videogame room. This paragraph happened a week or so ago. We play the Nintendo Switch, mostly Mario Kart (which I destroy everyone at). The pastor broke out Skyrim. I played Skyrim a couple times, but me and the pastor both kind of realized it couldn't go on because it was single player and with me destroying everyone at Mario Kart and the single player game combined nobody really dwelled there but me. It might as well have been my own little plane of Oblivion. I had a character named Orc Masterson, with the intent to actually do the main questline. At some point, the pastor comes to me and tells me he's gonna have to take the game off the list for the greater good. I agree. I'm about to leave the building, because it was post-lesson time, but pastor's quickly disconnecting the Switch and its charger. He runs up to me with the little thing. "Said-A-Funny, take the switch. Beat the game by next Sunday as Orc Masterson, do me proud." He knows I've never finished the main quest. He's as big a nerd as me, and plays Skyrim too. I initially declined taking the Switch, because I felt like I was inconveniencing him, but he INSISTED. I walked out, the Switch freeze-framed on me about to fight Mirmulnir. I decide to take this challenge as seriously as possible. It's the last few weeks of school, and every day I get back, instead of playing Skyrim on my PC as Orrid, I play Skyrim on my loaned Switch as Orc Masterson. I realize the family's going to the beach and I'll have to have an extension on my Orc Masterson challenge time. He obliges.
Last Wednesday, at the beach. I beat the main questline of Skyrim for the first time in my life. I sent a text to my pastor, and I did him proud. I'm going to return the Switch and its charger today at the church function. Level 20, Orc Masterson. A Skyrim character devoted to my pastor.
To close out, I've played Skyrim for a lot of my life and will continue to play for a lot more. My pastor will too. I love the game, always have, and I find it really funny how the game has followed me from console to console, house to house, grade to grade. One of two decorations in my new room is a tiny Skyrim poster my grandpa put up himself.
What a game.

2023.06.04 07:49 Electronic-Energy-62 Heavy flow the first 2 days, and looking for options
I'm currently using the organicup (now allmatters) size A, and everything's been going smoothly so far. I've used it for only 2 cycles, but mastered it on my first (idk if I got lucky, cause this is my first ever cup). My first cycle I had to empty every 8 hours on my heavy days (first two days), but my second cycle was extra heavy and required emptying every 4 to 5 hours. My current cup seems like it fits almost perfectly lenght wise (didn't trim the stem). I don't mind emptying often, but because I'm a heavy sleeper I can't do that at night. I was looking into either getting a tieutcup (because it has holes unlike merula), trying out a menstrual disc (disposables aren't available where I live, so I can't try those out) or getting/making cloth pads for the first 2 days when I need a higher capacity option. Out of those three, which would you guys recommend? I'm on a bit of a tight budget, so can't really try out multiple products. I'd have to order all of them online and pay almost double, but could diy the pads with local fabrics (might not find the waterproof and extra absorbent fabric though). Thank you in advance for any advice!

2023.06.04 06:57 OtherAdvance11 I may or may not have found the checkpoint system for Super Mario Kart
| In EpicEdit, you can edit Super Mario Kart tracks. I went into the objects menu, and I saw (almost) all race tracks had shaded in areas that were coloured. Strangely, Koopa Beach tracks only showed as having 1, and Ghost Valley tracks would not show checkpoints at all. I would appreciate if anybody could explain it if it means something else. I also dont know if it was found/posted before, I cant find it online. Koopa Beach 2 Rainbow Road submitted by OtherAdvance11 to supermariokart [link] [comments] |
2023.06.04 05:43 MeythlEytgl [Little Amerricka] Little Amerricka, Marshall, WI 6/2 Trip Report
Tiny park in rural WI. Excellent way to spent an afternoon w/ four credits, headliner being a hellish Chance prototype. These are the roller coasters in the order ridden:
—Meteor — Historical woodie. Runs three circuits around. Layout is a figure-eight layered over itself three times, three drops total with the center one being a double down. Operated with three red wooden sticks that pulled white planks under the station, and those were the breaks. 7.5/10
— The Swiss Toboggan — An imposing image entering the park. Guy in front of us in line saw what this was and bailed. My heart rate increased sitting in the station. You are encaged in a boot-shaped single-person car with cushions as restraints. You go up through a vertical lift then coil back down around it. I don’t know how to talk about the ending. Have yet to go to Mt. Olympus but could overall see this being a top 3 roller coaster in Wisconsin. 8.5/10
— Little Dipper — So many dads must hurt their backs here. This is a tiny ride with tight bunny hops. The trains are very red, three carts, but they would not let my partner and I sit in the same train — last year, there was an incident. We were the only ones on the ride, and the operator said we could go around up to 7 times. The minimum was three. 5.5/10
—Mad Mouse — No restraints on this one. A great roller coaster. The bunny hop at the end shatters you. 8/10
There were also numerous vintage flat rides:
—Monorail — Wonderful people running it. 6/10
—Ferris wheel — Fast. 4/10
— Kiddie Ferris wheel — Really small. Fit two adults in a single carriage with slight injury at worst. 5/10
—Test Pilot — Went on it twice. A lot. 7/10
— Haunted house — 5.5/10
— Swings — Parachute Tower. Went up, went up a little more, went back down. Not tall enough to see over the neighboring cemetery. Does not spin. 4/10
— Tilt-a-whirl — Nauseating. Mario figure in the middle jeering the entire time. Most likely lawsuit in a park with multiple rides that don't have restraints. 6.5/10
— Go-karts — Would not recommend paying extra for this. 3/10
— Whiskey River Railroad — 30 minutes long. Goes to neighboring farmland, campgrounds, private property. Swear on my life we passed two zebras. 8.5/10
— Scrambler — These are fun. 6/10
Food included hamburgers, hot dogs, brats. Lemonades & slushies were a highlight. Gift shop sold t-shirts of all sizes but no shot glasses.
Overall a blast. Excellent people watching, no closed rides, no lines. Discovered a mysterious claw-like scratch across my back in the evening.

2023.06.04 05:22 TicklishGyarados OC x canon - romance possible double RP
Hello,
I am looking for Rp partner and new friends. Indeed, I am looking for partners for Rp on the long term only. Please don't ghost, if you're busy let me know. Just as I would for you. I am looking for people who are sympathetic, kind, and understanding of my handicap.
I'm looking for people who would accept to play canon characters for my Oc women. I can do double Rp without any problem. Please don't play the canon too OOC. I would also make efforts on my side. We will always find an arrangement 🙂
I am French so please be patient with my English.
Some of my scenarios require the person to play multiple canon characters, as some of my Oc's are polyamorous. But in very unic case I'll be ok for you to play just one.
Lot of my prompts are alternative universe and I don't follow the canon stories 100%.
