The fact that I don’t give a shit about my job is slowly seeping into my work but considering you only need 6 brain cells and a semi-working understanding of the English language to do it, I’m still great at it. I know I’m a 21 year old girl, but every time I submit a brief and I get told to ‘make it more Gen-Z TikTokky!’ something inside me haemorrhages. Anyway the alternative is working in hospitality or retail. That’s literally it. As bad as this is, at least I get to sit on my ass for 8 hours a day and fuck off whenever I like to cry in the stairwell.
I feel like I’m between a rock and a hard place and I don’t see any other option besides burning out my savings to be unemployed for half a year tops before my valium and rent checks run out and I take my shitty sleeping bag to the women’s shelter.
I don’t have a boyfriend and I’ve been avoiding my friends for the past 3 months. I just sit in my room and watch Always Sunny in Philadelphia on weekends and after work. God I love that show. Everyone keeps nagging me to hang out, to study, to get some fresh air, to help myself, but I’ve developed a pretty intense fear of social situations and imagining myself hanging out with even my own friends of multiple years sends me into a shaky spiral of anxiety. I feel like they prefer when I’m not there and are only reaching out out of obligation. I would rather hang out with Charlie and Mac and co. I used to love going out, and even in spite of the depression-induced weight loss (I’m a total babe), literally nothing could get me out of my room to drink, dance, dine, or hang. All the psychologists in my area operate from a mostly 9-5 schedule, which I can’t make seeing as I work those hours. After-hours appointments are booked for months ahead. Something here has got to fucking change but idk what it is. I don’t feel like I can quit without having to take a much shittier more demanding job role. Maybe I could ask for part-time but I’ve hardly worked at this place for 6 months; plus they love pulling the ‘we’re a family’ bullshit (it’s a small team). Comments welcomed. Hi! New (potential) TaskRabbit customer here - and I'm aware this isn't a TR owned forum, but I thought I'd bounce a few questions over those who are most interested & aware of how things work:
I need to move an office area (medium sized wood desk that's all one part, plus an old wood chair that can't be disassembled, plus maybe 10 small moving boxes of office stuff) from one city (Dallas) to another (Houston). It's 250 or so miles from one to the other, per Google Maps, and about 3.5 hours drive, traffic cooperating. My hope would be on the TaskRabbit person having the truck or trailer or Nissan SV2500 fullsize van that could then move this stuff.
What should my expectations be on a (very) small move like this? Is this something TR can help with, or should I go with a more traditional move service? How would hours be charged, and is the 33% TaskRabbit fee (I see a common rate of around $60 an hour, and a common TaskRabbit add on of around $20 an hour) typical and expected?
When I read about most folks who list themselves as helping with moves, most of them feel like they handle sofa deliveries or in-town movies, which is a bit faster and simpler than what I am asking for.

hello traders, as the title says it all, i really need advice on how to exit my trades. cuz, i have a good win rate. i have an edge in the market. i have been trading for almost 3 years, first 2 years, i did not know what i was doing. But this year everything changed, after i found my edge. i trade two setups, only two setups, Pullbacks and Support Bounce setups. i traded in the Simulator for 7 months. and i had a sample size of over 600 trades. 500 trades for Pullbacks, and more than 100 trades for Support Bounce setups. then, i started trading live with like 1000$ 3 months ago. by the way, first year when i just started trading, i traded live, i had experience trading live, so even though i traded in the SIM for like 7 months, i treated it like i was trading with real money. i have a really good risk management, i have a max loss per trade and i have a max loss per day, Plus, i have an average loss/win per trade too, you may say, why im not profitable then. Cuz, most of the time, 70%-80% of the time, as soon as i get in the trade, the trade goes in my favor, but, i start panicking, and sell, even before the trade hits my profit target. i tried to trail my stop to break even too, it messed up my win rate cuz, the stock was always pulling back to my trailed stop and was continuing to go up. how do u guys manage your trades.?? how do u guys let your winners run?? By the way, English is not my first language, hopefully you guys understood me, thank you guys.

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Will use the pc mostly for light productivity and online gaming, stuff like apex, rocket league, csgo, valorant, etc. I play single player games but with these GPU prices I think I'll just buy a PS5 for that. Just bought a 6700XT at 350€ which seemed like a decent price, so looking to complete the rest of the build.
Also I'm able to buy the Phanteks p400 air pretty much untouched from a friend at a discounted price (~20€ discount), so if that's a good case then I'd include it, but I'm open to suggestions.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)

Don't really care about "future-proofing", I just want a PC that'll do the job at 2k resolution for ~3 years. But if I can get a build where I can just upgrade CPU/GPU (and i guess a PSU) in 3 years that'd be great.

There's a saying in investing: "The time to buy is when there's blood in the streets." And at this point, you'd be excused for mistaking the red in Michael Harris's Braves jersey for blood.
He was a 3rd round pick in real life in 2019 and took the league by storm last season. He went 75/19/64/20/.297 in just 441 plate appearances, which is a 600-plate appearance pace of 102/26/87/27/.297. Only Adolis, Tucker, Semien and Julio went 25/25 last season (Julio did it in just 560 PAs!). Adolis, Tucker and Semien all hit .257 or less while Harris hit close to .300 and he regularly batted around that average in the minors so he appears to a plus in batting average where other 25/25 players fall short.
This led to Harris having an ADP of 31. That's expensive. He was viewed as a potential bust during drafts by many given that they didn't believe in his power with a 22.9% HFB. That's Kyle ScwarbeAustin Riley power. People were also concerned about his relatively high K rate (24.3%) compared to his low BB rate (4.8%)
And Harris doubters have been claiming victory given that he has been BAD this season. His 600-plate appearance pace is just 64/11/42/27/.180 (this is his "Blood In The Street" rate of "BITS" rate). If you go into the Daily Threads here, you'll see the blood in the streets.
But that's exactly why we should finally buy. You can buy him for almost anything.
First, let's talk about mindset. Part of the reason people are so upset with Harris was his ADP but that's not his fault. It's not his fault managers drafted him too highly. If his ADP was 100, the hatred would be much less. The truth is that his ADP is a sunk cost and irrelevant to his ROS production. Whether his ADP was #1 or #1,000, it doesn't change his ROS of production. Just forget that because it's irrelevant to his production.
One of the biggest complaints about Harris was his plate discipline and it was fair. A BB/K of .20 last season leaves a lot to be desired. You need to be extremely fast or extremely powerful or a strong combination of both to be successful with such a low rate (think a Mondesi/Witt/ Adolis kind of guy). But Harris has the speed for it. Even now, his BITS pace for 27 SB's. That would have been 7th most last year (tied with Trea). And he's not a zero in power (which we'll discuss later). But he's actually addressed this BB and K issue. His walk rate is up to 8.0% from 4.8% and his strikeout rate is down to 22.1% from 24.3%. His BB/K ratio is now .36... not bad at all. That BB% is actually average and his K% is only below average, not poor or awful. These rates can certainly be overcome for a player with Harris's talent. And remember, we’re seeing this improvement despite the BITS situation. Improvement to your BB and K rates isn't the sign of a lost cause.
Is his improvement shocking? No. He regularly averaged above 8% BB% ratio and a reasonable K rate in the minors. He's also just 22 now. His best work is likely ahead of him. And it's not shocking to see a player improve in the second major league season.
So one of the two complaints has been mostly resolved. That just leaves his power.
I'm not here to say he's going to regain his 26-HR power. He could develop more power since again, he's just 22, but he's currently not a 26 HR guy. But his current 7.4% HFB is pretty low.
He has mid-teens power based on the following:

• His BITS rate is 11 so even no improvement puts him in double digits.
  
• If ~45% of barrels are HR's, his pace last season was 19. Just because he overachieved by hitting 26 doesn't mean he should regression to zero.
  
• If ~45% of barrels are HR's, his BITS pace based on barrels is 17.
  
• In 2021, in 101 games, he hit 7 in AA at age 20.
  

He's not nothing in power. But who cares, right? He still sucks, right? Well, not for long.
The first thing that jumps out at you is his .216 BABIP. His career norm is around .330. And with his speed, a higher than average BABIP is to be expected. We should see a ton of gains here.
People complain he bats 9th but he batted 9th last season. Batting 9th might cost him an PA sometimes but he plays for the 4th highest scoring team in baseball, something that will get you more PA than playing for CLE or OAK and make those PAs more valuable. Batting 9th also allows him to bat in front of the best hitter in the entire sport. I'll take that batting spot over anywhere a guy like Vinnie P, for example.
Despite his struggles, he's still maintained his speed. His BITS stolen base pace is still 27. That's a plus category even if he never improves.
So why buy him right now? He hit a HR and stole base this weekend going 4/1/2/1/.333/.500 in three games. And he made this great defense play. People underrate how much the field impacts hitting. I mean, just look at Jazz's production this season while struggling to learn a new position. Harris is building momentum. Don't forget he was hurt early in the season. Sometimes it takes time to get going early in the season and sometimes it takes time to get going coming off an injury - he's doing both at once at age 22.
In summary:

• He's a 22 year old, high end prospect who has produced in the majors before.
  
• His season is just starting and he's coming off of injury so it's not impossible that it takes time to get going. Also, while it's not quite early in the season, today is still only Memorial Day. There's plenty of time left in the season. He hasn't even had a bad half of season yet.
  
• He had a good weekend, including a defensive play to give him momentum

• He's been a plus in SB while being horrible. He should steal even more when he gets on base more.
  
• He's improved his BB and K rates - a key argument against him coming into the season and a sign he's not a lost cause right now. He’s going to be plus in average as he has always been.
  
• He's in a plus batting spot despite people thinking it's a minus. He plays for a high scoring offense. He should be a plus in runs like he was last season. Take advantage of this disconnection.
  
• His ADP doesn't matter ROS even though it impacts people's view of him
  
• If I'm right, he should have a hot streak to balance things out. You'll be getting the best parts of his 2023 season without having to had eaten this BITS part.
  

He's going to be a plus in runs, SB and AVG while being average in HR and RBI. And you can get him for basically nothing. The risk/reward here is blatantly obvious!
As outlined above, there's real reasons to buy, not feelings. But if you ask me my feelings, my feelings are simple: Buying Harris now is a league winning move.

—————————————————— I have a degenerative liver condition that causes extreme fatigue. I’ve managed to stay in the job I had before my diagnosis for 3-4 years by dropping down from full time to 30 hours per week. However, I’m getting more and more stressed out as I approach the next “busy season” (September) and think it’s time I stepped up my search for remote work. Due to my condition I need to be able to take time off for planned (and occasional unplanned) hospital admissions, plus sick days, so I cannot afford to work freelance.
I have only ever worked in libraries (first public, then university, now an FE/HE college) in roles that are primarily customer-facing. I currently wear a lot of hats but my first and biggest responsibility is teaching classes on critical thinking and various academic and research skills. This is the part of my job that I find exhausting and it’s essential/non-negotiable, hence my desire for change.
Other aspects of my job include writing content for the library website; writing and recording instructional videos; assisting students with research using academic databases, the British Library etc; proofreading students’ assignments; purchasing and cataloguing stock; promoting discovery (making it as easy as possible for people to find what they’re looking for, essentially, by utilising metadata, search functions, shelving, displays, social media etc etc etc)
My personal areas of interest/expertise include graphic non-fiction and decolonising the curriculum.
I have a 2:1 in English Literature from a decent uni, City and Guilds Level 3 in Education and Training, and a basic proofreading qualification. I do not have any library, cataloguing or archiving qualifications.
I believe I have the skills required to do the following:
Subtitling/captioning and transcription
Researching/fact-checking
Proofreading/proof-editing
Document supply (ie responding to requests for articles on a particular topic)
Entry-level archiving and cataloguing (ie adding tags to catalogue records to aid discovery)
Purchasing/recommending resources for schools, businesses and other organisations- basically, using my knowledge of books to curate collections based on different topics. Does this job even exist? I wish it did!
Can anyone think of any other non-freelance, non-teaching jobs that I could do remotely (and ideally part-time?)
Are you aware of anyone (companies or recruiters) who work with disabled job candidates?
Has anybody here left a customer-facing library role and found remote work in a similar field?
