Hey, as the title says I am a former Yugioh player. I played pretty competitively back in 2016-2018, topping a couple regionals and attending nationals one of those years. I played a bit of Master Duel when it was first released and reached the highest rank, but then stopped playing. I'm looking to get back into it and wondering if there are any good channels or wikis to get caught up to speed on new decks and the current meta? I was a huge fan of Zoodiac, are there any top tier decks at the moment that would fit that playstyle?

2023.05.23 15:44 Bearntear Fragrance Storm + Sylvan Sagequoia interaction
Hello! I have a question on this interaction,: Fragrance Storm destroys a monster (can be a Sylvan), and I've read online that the draw is "simultaneous" with the destruction (even though I wouldnt read fragrance storm like that, personally).
If I draw Sylvan Sagequoia and forego the extra draw, with the "When a Sylvan monster goes to the GY..." effect of Sagequoia, am I able to special summon it immediately?
I would assume I miss the timing if I take the extra draw based on the linked resources about timkng (:) to the resources, :( to the loss).

I am building a Kozmo deck as my first deck, however I can't seem to find how to unlock Quinton for the 2x "Kozmo Dark Destroyer" cards.
I missed Quinton's unlock event by a few days (I joined Duel Links two days ago) and I reached stage 6 in the ZEXAL dimension to get the 'Unlock Character Missions', but Quinton is not shown there.
The YGO-fandom Wiki) says that it should be an unlockable character per April 30.

2023.05.15 06:06 Shanevolution New to MTG - What media is there to delve into the lore?
As the title says, I've just started my MTG journey in the last couple days after getting hooked on MTG Arena when someone recommended it to me and now i'm $230 in the hole buying booster boxes to start playing IRL. Never got into it when I was younger but hey, I have more money than sense now!
The one thing I wanted to look into more though is the lore. A lot of the card art with the different factions and theming is superb, but I don't really know any context behind it. I grew up with the OG Yugioh into the GX era and loved it because I could follow the show and recognize certain cards like the god cards and the story behind them, etc., just as an example. From what I can gather, there just seems to be just a Wiki and books.
Is that all there is, and if so, is there any sort of grand summary of the events of the last 30 or so years until now? Started delving into the Phyrexian stuff but apparently Urabrask bad, compleat this, compleat that, beep boop no idea.

What I search for is a girl that can be loyal, what I seek is love that is eternal. Someone who will put effort into the relationship. At this day and age, almost everyone has a phone. Letting your partner know what's going on with you takes less than 5 minutes... There's no way that's too much to ask.
What more can we expect in our relationship? Some nerdiness, goofiness, smiles, and laughs. A walk around the block or a trip to the beach. With the best teammates we can have, each other. Add more to the list! Looking at the stars together?
Space is so vast and fascinating. I love watching videos about it or reading wiki or whatever sort of articles. Enjoying my nerdy hobbies of collecting Yugioh cards and coins. But I also make time to laugh and have fun. Playing Xbox with friends, watching a nice horror movie, shooting your butt with a nerf gun heh
Let's have fun together? I think the possibilities are limitless for that. You ever see those couple videos where they wear exfoliating masks together? Yeah we can do that, You decide. I want to do anything you want as long as you'll do the same.
Let's write this love story together and share it with our kids someday? Definitely one of my many goals. Random goal of mine is to get a Nissan - Skyline. What are some of your goals? Let's achieve them together my future other half :)

The six revealed cards from Duelists of Explosion, were rather lackluster.
Excluding the Link-4 and maybe some Gozen Match shenanigans, the deck's power level didn't change much. If anything, it got slightly better than it currently is, but still not enough to become Meta, even if they unlimit Gazelle.
So, I am wondering how good the last unrevealed card has to be, to make up for the rest.
What kind of effect should it have? What does the deck need most in your opinion?
I personally would love another starter, similar to Circular that sends a monster from the deck as a summoning requirement that helps recycling banished cards. A big problem the deck currently has.
Something along the lines of this:
Salamangreat Unknown
(Cyberse/FIRE/Level 4/1500/200)
You can send 1 "Salamangreat" monster, except "Salamangreat Unknown", from your Deck to your GY; Special Summon this card from your hand, also you cannot activate monster effects for the rest of this turn, except FIRE monsters.
You can banish this card from your GY; Target 1 FIRE monster that is banished or in your GY, except "Salamangreat Unknown" add it to your hand.
You can only use each effect of "Salamangreat Unknown" once per turn.

What kind of effect should it have? What does the deck need most in your opinion?
I personally would love another starter, similar to Circular that sends a monster from the deck as a summoning requirement that helps recycling banished cards. A big problem the deck currently has.
Something along the lines of this:
Salamangreat Unknown
(Cyberse/FIRE/Level 4/1500/200)
You can send 1 "Salamangreat" monster, except "Salamangreat Unknown", from your Deck to your GY; Special Summon this card from your hand, also you cannot activate monster effects for the rest of this turn, except FIRE monsters.
You can banish this card from your GY; Target 1 FIRE monster that is banished or in your GY, except "Salamangreat Unknown" add it to your hand.
You can only use each effect of "Salamangreat Unknown" once per turn.

When a card or an effect is activated during this timing, it is considered to be activated in response to both the Monster's Summon and the preceding Chain Link.it's more like the summon negation window , CL1 has to be in response to the attempted summon , then you get to chain whatever you like on top of that, the same is here, only cards that have the same activation time as torrential tribute get to be CL1, correct ?

2023.05.07 12:03 MechanicNo1392 Ceremonial Battle: Starting with 7 cards in hand on first turn?
In the last duel of manga, it shows that Atem and Yugi drew six cards before the draw phase of their first turn, which makes it 7 cards in total for their fist turn, on the wiki page https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_Dawn_of_the_Duel_gameplay it says this is the special rule for this specific duel. I'm wondering does the manga explicitly mentions this speical rule change anywhere? Becuase I tried to look for it but couldn't seem to find it.
Also, I tried to count the number of cards in Atem's hand each turn, and somehow the number don't match up, after he set "Magicians Unite", in my calculation he should have no more cards in hand, but Yugi noted that Atem still have one more card in his hand. Have I made a mistake in my counting, has anyone else ever tried to follow up their number of cards in hand?
